“James’ eyes are drawn to another boy in the room. He’s sitting in the chair next to his bed, as opposed to the others that are standing. He seems different than the others, more quiet, though just as worried. His hair seems to be at a perfect length, curling just beneath his ears. James has a weird urge to touch it or run his hands through it, it looks soft. They hold eye contact for longer than James thinks is normal, and it brings an unusual warmth to his stomach.“
