You suddenly open your eyes, mind foggy as the remnants of your dream dissipate slowly. Turning your head around, you smile at the sight of Zayne beside you.
He's fast asleep and you try to be subtle around him so he doesn't wake up just yet.
After going to the bathroom, you look at him and blush because of how lovely he looks sleeping peacefully. But, for him not to be late for work, you start kissing him softly everywhere you can (except his lips) until he stirs, suddenly taking your face in his hands. You blush because he caught you off guard and, when you look at him, his eyes are shining with fondness.
"Good morning, honey" he says in that raspy voice of his, still half asleep.
"Good morning" you answered back, smiling at his cute pout.
"What?"
"Are you not kissing me on my lips? Do I have morning breath?" He turns his gaze elsewhere.
"No, silly. I wanted you to sleep a bit more"
He hums in a low tone, the rumble resonating in your chest that's pressed against his.
"But now I'm awake"
"So?" You tease, and he smirks.
"Someone's trying to play with me, I see"
You can feel your face heating up. You open your mouth to try to explain yourself (even if you know he's the one messing up with you) but he stops you with a finger over your lips.
Suddenly, the air around you feels charged, his face right in front of you.
"Zayne..."
"Please, keep going. I won't complain"
After you process his words, you push him against the mattress, playfully hitting him.
"Are you happy now?"
"No" he declares, stifling his laughter
Even if you love him endlessly, he still annoys you to no end.
"Stop joking, then"
"Okay"
Slowly, he pulls you down, faces mere inches apart.
"I'll start kissing you now, if you want"
You nod once, the feeling of his lips against yours calming your heart at the same time hundreds of butterflies erupt in your belly.
"I love you" he mumbles in between pecks.
"Love you too"
In the early morning, the sun shines over your room.
And, even if he does end up being late for work, you know he doesn't mind it in the slightest.
