"Seems we have some intruders in town and they may be looking for ghosts."
"What?" Valerie stared at her boyfriend who was just staring at the ceiling for the last half an hour while they were supposed to be deciding prom ideas.
Valerie and Danny were finally in their senior year of high school. Honestly she never thought that she would get back with him but it was nice after they figured out their problems. Danny had grown into his powers and he could sense things within all of Amity because it became his haunt after a while. Not that that was a bad thing but sometimes he would say mildly disturbing things just like he just said he is with Val.
She loves her boyfriend she really does but she honestly wished that he would stop doing that. Because he would say that and then disappear without any context and they would come back either beating up or covered in ecto. So she gets up and shakes the context out of him before he just disappears on her again. Danny 100% could just disappear on her by going intangible but he doesn't.
"Explain!" Valerie demanded.
"I sent something weird at the edge of town. I thought it was just new tourists but it's too early in the season for tourists. I'm not sure what it is but it feels wrong or even worse like it shouldn't be here." Well that wasn't good, if they were dealing with a new ghost that wanted to suddenly appear to fight Danny for the crown again, Val was going to have to make a statement to the infinite realm that her boyfriend was off duty until he graduated again.
Almost as if something was reading her mind one of the many ghost friends that Danny has made appeared in the middle of the room. Ember and all her glory looked paranoid and worried which was very unlike her since she was normally the punk energetic type. She just started spotting noises that weren't English but ghosts speak much to Valerie's dismay she did not understand. As quickly as she came Ember disappeared in an explosion of fire.
"Apparently there's new hunters in town, they don't seem to be GIW wannabes but they aren't from around here either." Valerie tensed, after Danny had revealed his identity to his parents, they were supportive.
The GIW was run out of town by the people since they were tired of the property damage. The only hunters that were still left in town were Danny's parents and Valerie. Sometimes during the 3 years since some cheap version of a hunter comes around to act like they know what they're doing but the moment they see an actual ghost and they realize it wasn't just a lie they panic and run. For those who don't know better that tends to be the driving motive to get the bad or terrible hunter out of town.
Not that Valerie was complaining, that just meant that she had less competition or people trying to do her job better than her because they think that women shouldn't be hunters. The amount of time she had dealt with idiotic men yelling at her while she was on her hoverboard collecting a ghost made her want to throttle every single person that came into town as a hunter. But this time around since Ember seemed worried either the hunters were actually competent or they were going to be a problem. Danny normally lets her handle running out potential problems since she was the Hunter that knew which ghosts were the ones that needed to be captured or put in time out.
"I know that it's still early but don't you think we should probably head to class? We can worry about the hunters after since we both have a half schedule." Danny said far too relaxed for his own well being but he was right the hunter could be a later problem until they actually tried doing something.
Valerie had slept over for the night passed out over her project that she was supposed to finish and didn't. So they both get ready so they can go to school. They played off the whole hunters thing and pushed it to the back of their minds while leaving the Fentons workshop. The walk to school was their normal routine of just teasing each other and joining up with Tucker and Sam by the sign of the school but Tucker and Sam were distracted by an unknown car parked in front.
Danny whispered to Velvet the unknown energy that he felt this morning was coming off of the car, well great, that meant the hunters were in the school. Not that any of the Casper students were going to talk to the hunters, just as much as Valerie and Danny hate new people coming to town the people of Amity Park also hated new people coming to town. Especially if they were coming to hunt down their hero or anyone that was related to their hero. It was a good thing that he was able to keep up the good persona and nothing got in between that after 3 years.
Danny had the full confidence of the entire Amity Park being on his side that they mostly threw hunters fake information or just straight up told them that they were never going to help them. Valerie was actually kind of proud of the people, especially when one of those people happened to be her father who didn't know about Danny being Phantom but did not like the hunter that was in front of him. So they were going to mildly ignore the car that started gathering a group of students by it.
That group of students are the A-listers from their graduating class. The best part about it is that Paulina was in charge of that group at the moment and she was a very avid Phantom fan. They hadn't even gotten into the school yet to figure out what the hunters were there for and Paulina was instructing people to spray paint the car. At the very least I know that Danny wasn't going to be haunted. The Hunters are probably going to get bullied out of Amity park by the looks of it.
So they wouldn't be considered collateral Valerie grabbed her boyfriend and rushed the rest of their group into the school building. There were less students in the hallway since a lot of them were outside bombing the hunter's car. Making their way through the Halls they found one area that was sealed off by yellow tape, police tape. Mr. Lancer who had been promoted to principal of the school was standing redirecting students away from the tape. There were two people inside the tape that seemed to be cuddled over a pool of blood for some reason.
"I didn't realize that somebody died." Danny said jokingly to Mr Lancer who was very much done with Danny's death jokes by now.
"Those two detectives are trying to figure out what happened here, so don't worry about it though if a ghost of the victim does appear by all means please let us know." Mr. Lancer has known for a long time what the Phantom 4 were doing and he covered for them as much as he could. So valued that he trusted their judgment to an extent.
"Well those detectives can try finding something out if they were detectives." Lancer looked puzzled as Valerie eyed the two very clear Hunters in front of her. They didn't carry themselves as police officers on top of that she knew most of the officers in Amity. "They're Hunters and we don't know why they're here but let's just say that if something goes kaboom outside don't question why a car is on fire."
The principal just died before dragging a hand across his face, he knew exactly what Valerie was talking about and it didn't even surprise him. Mr Lancer flagged down the nearest teacher that he had before telling her to call 911 for actual detectives before he stepped across the yellow tape to talk to the two hunters. Valerie didn't want to stay long to see those two get in trouble and neither did Danny so they both went their ways to class. Sam was giggling the entire time and kept bombing their group chat because she stayed behind to see Lancer berate the two imposters.
Not that Valerie wasn't upset that Sand didn't just go to class but she did have to ask her friend if she got any useful information or if she was there for the tea. Thankfully Sam wasn't just there to watch the drama unfold, she got names of the two hunters. Their actual names because apparently before anybody even noticed she ransacked their car for some other stuff. Valerie wasn't going to question the fact that Sam just broke into a vehicle that wasn't hers.
Sam and Dean Winchesters.
Their names weren't on any IDs or anything, it was written on a piece of paper that was in the trunk of their car. Why Sam immediately assumed those were their actual names was because it was the only name that wasn't on any of the fake IDs that were in the front part of their car. How concerned they should be for the Winchester's being in town they weren't exactly sure yet but Sam and Tucker were going to look into it and get back to them about it. It was days like this that Valerie was actually happy that she wasn't working alone anymore.
Working with a witch, a hacker and a ghost was probably the weirdest combination of people that she could hang out with but she was happy. And these weird wannabe Hunters are not going to be the ones to destroy her happiness. On top of the fact that the Winchesters were apparently arrested after their car mysteriously exploded with paint covering other cars nearby. That story was told throughout the school day the entire time.
Of course none of the students got in trouble because Mr Lancer was not a witness to anything that happened before school hours. Which apparently caused the Winchesters to swear, one specifically which Valerie assumes is the owner of said car. Karma was honestly a bitch and if they left before she had to even come in contact with them she was fine with that. But apparently the Winchesters are too stubborn and didn't want to leave.
First off they somehow broke out of temporary jail because according to the captain neither of them could afford bail. Not even slightly surprising their car also mysteriously vanished but they were still in town because Danny could sense them. Wherever they were hiding out Valerie was going to find them and then run them out of town herself because they were giving her a headache. Though that was easier said than done because the Winchesters were apparently really good hiders.
But their bright pink car that was still soaking wet of paint left a little bit of traces of where they went off to. Which was honestly easy for Val to track because unlike most people she was actually a professional at looking for people. People like them never expect retaliation from the people in town or even no one else getting in trouble but themselves. Honestly they lucked out they were lucky that it didn't get any worse since they were technically impersonating an officer.
So in her whole red huntress outfit and gear, she made her way to an abandoned house that was just a bit off the road from Amity Park. Valerie wasn't even slightly surprised it was one of the old abandoned mansions that her and her friends frequented a lot. They were just lucky that the mansion that the Winchester's chose wasn't the one that they were actually using as a headquarters. Amity gets into far too many doomsday scenarios for their headquarters to be in town. She sat on her hoverboard while staring at the bright pink car that she couldn't stop giggling at.
She took a picture of it and sent it to the group chat. Apparently Paulina did not use paint, it was something completely different. It was a weird form of chemical paint that some of the students had quoted; started making an accident and saved just in case something was to happen. Valerie wasn't going to touch the chemical at all even with her outfit because she wasn't sure if it was considered acid. People from Amity Park were already contaminated with radiation but this might be a whole different thing.
"Step away from the car." A click of a gun could be heard as Valerie looked off to see a guy with a bright pink hand holding a gun at her. Judging by where the paint was he must be the owner of the car.
His brother on the other hand didn't have any paint on him so either he was smart enough to not grab the handle with the strange substance on it or he made his brother open the door. Either way the clearly younger brother was more confused by Valerie's appearance than concerned about his brother pulling a gun on her. Which by the way is very rude Valerie sat on her hoverboard offended. She wasn't sure if she was portraying that expression but she wanted to make sure that the Winchesters knew that she was very much offended.
"You know you should probably go to a hospital that was not painted so I don't know what's going to happen to you since you're not even from here." The least you could do was at least recommend these two idiots go to a hospital. Inhaling the fumes might get to their brains or whatever. The younger brother seemed genuinely concerned for the older but he didn't move to put his gun down.
"Who are you?" He didn't move his gun down so Valerie decided to just do it for him. She pulled out her own and shot at his hand, it wasn't meant to harm humans but it worked on metal just fine. He hissed as if it actually burned but Valerie was pretty sure that was just his reaction to actually acknowledging his hand now. Well she thought it was for that, it seems like the "paint" was actually ecto.
"Whoops. You really do need a hospital now, radiation for non-parkers is very deadly." Valerie pointed her gun at the older brother who looked more pissed than before. At least his little brother actually cares about his stupid self because he was trying to talk him out of doing something stupid. "I am going to assume you are Sam and mister grumpy is Dean. I am going to make this very clear now so we don't have any miscommunication later. Mostly because it won't be a miscommunication if I shoot your brother in the leg next time. Trust me outside hunters tend to piss me off and some go home with a limp, this is my territory and I will not have some wannabe professionals screw it up. Got it?"
"First off, fuck you. You literally shoot me with whatever that is. Secondly, we aren't wannabes, we are the real deal." Dean hissed out while Sam just shook his head in disapproval.
"Sure you are, go hunt literally anything else but Amity Park is off to you freaks. If I see you before a ghost does I will shoot you, if they see you though you are on your own. I hope you have good insurance." Valerie scoffed before tossing Sam healing bandages the Fenton's made for ecto-contaminated tourists. It was a tradition by this point for anyone new visiting Amity Park, someone will eventually touch something they shouldn't. "Don't touch the car this time, just water it down enough until it's no longer glowing pink and then take it to a car wash."
Dean seemed like he wanted to say more but Sam yanked his brother's arm to wrap his hand. Sam was a smart one though he wrapped his brother's hand with getting any of it on himself. At the very least they weren't completely incompetent, far better than the few who venture out to Amity. But one look at Dean and she just knew they weren't going to leave now, he was as stubborn as his brother was patient with dealing with him. She would have to keep an eye on them during their stay especially since they are technically wanted by the police too.
"You've actually seen the paranormal before haven't you?" Valerie guessed simply by how dead serious Dean seems to be on staying in Amity. Sam seemed shocked either because Valerie was right or the fact she hadn't left yet.
"You are also a hunter, you know how it is. Not everyone believes until they see the real thing and when they do-" Sam left the last part unsaid and he would be right regardless. People get so excited to see what Amity has to offer but the moment they see floating corpses or a possessed person they insist on leaving like cowards.
Valerie just snorted but nodded before leaving, those brothers were definitely sticking around. They were going to cause her so many headaches but honestly right now she was just going to leave them Tucker and Sam. The magic and tech duo that they were, they were better at keeping track with potential idiots in the making and Valerie was pretty sure Sam already had a tracking spell on both of them just because she could. She laughed to herself when she got the text confirming that Sam had kept it up since they got arrested.
No surprise there, no one who gets arrested from out of town doesn't stay long in jail. They were just glad the brothers broke themselves out instead of Vlad getting his gross little paws on them. The last thing Amity Park needed is a hunter endorsed by the creepy vampire ghost who wasn't even living in Amity Park. Honestly that just violently reminded Val of her time with the creep ghost in question and how much she cringed looking back on it.
Danny texted her making her day a bit better before she realized the context to the text message. Irony really does hate her for some reason because one Vlad Plaimus had a new weird plan to ruin everyone's week simply because he can't be happy. Honestly that man needs a therapist.
