Fit Check for a Frosty Era

Summary:

What happens when a KPop superhero meets a group of KPop Demon Hunters? Probably something gay

Notes:

I already had the idea for this fic but given the current trend of shipping Rumi with anyone and everyone, I felt like the time was right

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Luna Snow climbed onto the stage, eager for another performance. She had heard that her fellow Kpop idols, HUNTR/X were in the audience, so she was determined to make tonight’s show a good one.

“How are we doing, Seoul? What an amazing turn out!” Her eyes scanned the crowd, hoping to see the other KPop stars. “I hope you all are ready for a good time… Tonight.” Luna joked, launching into her first song.

With your sweet lips you said you love me

Even when you came to me (Please don’t lie)

I can’t be deceived anymore,

I don’t believe anymore

Stop it now

Rumi bounced along to the beat of the song, watching the performer. She would be lying if she said she hadn’t wanted to see Luna Snow perform, but the girls had an ulterior motive for being at the show.

The girls surveyed the city from their penthouse. They had created a new honmoon, but it was not fully secure. The blue lines covered the city, rolling over it like waves. They felt a tug on the honmoon, drawing their attention to an arena. Red flashed across the lines before returning to blue. They knew the consequences would be disastrous if a rip opened in such a populated area and they weren’t already there.

Mira lifted an eyebrow as she looked at the other two. Zoey quickly pulled out her phone and searched up the arena. “Anyone fancy seeing Luna Snow tonight?”

“Aww, hopefully we’ll be able to actually enjoy the concert. I’ll have Bobby get us tickets.” Rumi turned away and pulled out her phone, dialing his number. “Hey Bobby, what are the odds you can get us into Luna Snow’s show tonight?”

The trio danced as Luna sang, enjoying a night out of the spotlight. They knew they had work to do, but the rift hadn’t opened yet, so why not enjoy the concert while they could?

Mira stood behind Rumi, a hand resting casually on her hip, the other raised in the air. Zoey stood in front of Rumi, arms reaching up and draping around her neck. One of Rumi’s arms wrapped tightly around Zoey’s waist, her other hand holding Mira’s on her hip.

They swayed along to the beat, bodies pressing together as they watched the concert. Luna moved with elegance along the stage, ice trailing her steps. She formed a staff of ice on the stage, swinging around it, using it to lift her into the air.

The concert continued. Rift is still closed. Luna seemingly walked on air, thin ice platforms on her feet. She shot off blasts of snow and frost like fireworks, forming shapes in the air.

Mira leaned in, lightly nipping at Rumi’s neck before pressing a kiss to the area. A soft whine escaped her lips. Zoey tilted her head up to look at Rumi and smirked. Pink flickered along her patterns as Rumi blushed and looked away. Zoey tugged her back in and administered a soft kiss to her cheek.

I wanna fly away fly away

Don’t be scared

Repeat it to myself countless times

I get over it again

I’ll become stronger

The one who enjoys it till the end

I’m Luna Snow

I like that bounce bounce bounce

I’m Luna snow I’m thrilled

I like that bounce bounce bounce bounce

“Thank you all! Good Night Seoul!”

Rumi was overjoyed. Luna Snow exited the stage, concert coming to an end. The rift still hadn’t opened, and the crowd began to filter out of the venue. “That was…”

“AMAZING!!!” Zoey cheered, practically bouncing with excitement. “We have got to collab with her.”

Mira was frozen, staring at the stage in awe. “The way she danced around with her powers. I have… so many ideas. The visuals for a music video would be insane.”

Rumi nodded idly, still stunned.

The honmoon tugged again. The girl's attention snapped towards the direction of the rift. They took off like lightning, heading into danger.

Luna was a super hero, so she was no stranger to weird things. But when an otherwise ordinary fight with some monsters was interrupted by the superstars HUNTR/X, she was a little surprised.

She paused, awe on her face as Rumi leapt impossibly far, slicing one of the monsters in half with a large sword. She continued to watch as knives that looked like they were made of light flew from Zoey’s hands into the chest of a larger monster. Mira charged towards the same monster, running it through with a long, spear-like weapon.

Another monster snuck up behind Mira and Luna dove back into the action. She shot a stream of ice, freezing the monster in its tracks. The pink haired girl whipped around and smashed it into pieces with the blunt end of her weapon. Mira nodded appreciatively and continued fighting, elegantly twirling her blade around herself.

Luna skated forward, sending shards of ice at one of the monsters. “I know the circumstances aren’t ideal, but it’s nice to meet you all. I’m a big fan of your work.”

“Likewise. Your concert was incredible tonight by the way!” Rumi turned, decapitating a monster sneaking up on her.

Seriously. Your choreo is something else.” Mira flipped and swung her blade down. The monster split in half and crumbled into ash. “And so catchy!” Zoey chimed in.

“Ah, thank you so much! It means a lot coming from you all.” Luna raised a wall of ice as a monster rushed towards her. Cold surrounded it, the monster withering as it made contact. “So… I have a few questions.”

Rumi grabbed a demon by the throat and slammed it into the ground. “Shoot.” Her eyes flicked up, locking with Luna’s as she tossed her braid back.

God that was hot.

Luna’s face betrayed her, blushing slightly. “You guys seem very experienced with this. But nobody knows you’re a superhero?” Luna deftly twirled away from a monster as it attacked, sending shards of dark ice back at it.

“I wouldn’t call us superheroes-”

I would!” Rumi turned to smile at Zoey and continued on. “Not exactly. We have a more focused goal.”

She ducked a swipe of a heavy limb and stabbed through the attacker. “We hunt demons.” She looked at herself. “The ones who want to hurt innocent people, anyway.”

“Ok so these are demons?” Rumi nodded. “Ok. Cool. And you’re idols because-?”

“It’s a long story but basically-” She ran towards Luna and speared a demon approaching her. “-There’s this barrier that separates our realm from theirs. When we sing we draw on our fans' hopes, dreams and positive emotions to strengthen it. The more people we can reach, the stronger it gets.”

Luna blushed again. This was going to be a problem, wasn’t it?

“So is it just a coincidence that they’re here?” Luna skated between the girls, freezing demons in their tracks.

“Honestly? I’m not sure. I would’ve assumed it was just because it was a highly populated area but they waited until after the concert to attack.” Rumi backflipped, stabbing downwards at a demon as she landed.

Mira pinned a demon to the ground with her weapon, leaving it there as she turned around to punch a demon. Luna grabbed the shaft and swung around it, sending shards of ice in all directions.

Rumi watched as Luna spun. She made it look effortless as she danced around the battlefield, freezing demons and withering them away. Rumi realized she was staring a second too late as a demon charged toward her.

The demon knocked Rumi off her feet and pressed its attack, earning a small cut along her arm. The demon dissipated into smoke as three knives landed in its back. Worry flashed across Zoey’s face before a smirk emerged. Zoey cocked an eyebrow, teasing her like she knew what Rumi had been thinking. Rumi looked away, cheeks blushing.

Luna skated past Rumi. Her fingers trailed over the cut. A faint glow emerged underneath Luna’s finger tips, the flesh mending itself as they passed by. Rumi stared in awe. Luna winked at her and turned back to the fight.

Fuck. How was she supposed to concentrate now?

Mira twirled near Rumi, cutting down a demon. She tossed a glance over her shoulder, showing a smug smile. “ Focus, baby.” Her voice dropped to a whisper. “ You can worry about how hot she is later.”

Rumi gestured helplessly and sighed, looking to the ground.

Breathe. Just… chill out.

She raised her sword and ran back into the fray.

After what felt like ages of fighting the demon hordes began to thin. Two voices began to sing, impossibly coming from every direction at once. The girls froze and the demons backed off into the shadows.

Keeping you in check (Uh), keeping you obsessed (Uh)

Play me on repeat, endlessly in your head

Anytime it hurts (Uh), play another verse (Uh)

I can be your sanctuary

Know I'm the only one right now (Now)

I will love you more when it all burns down

More than power, more than gold (Yeah)

Yeah, you gave me your heart, now I'm hеre for your soul

“No…”

Two humanoid demons in dark cloaks and wide brimmed hats emerged from the shadows.

“Go home, Huntr/x. This doesn’t concern you.”

Luna thought they looked familiar, but why would she recognize a demon? Still, she felt like she should know their faces. The girls moved to stand in front of her, weapons extended.

Rumi stared the men down and snarled. “ Not happening . Why don’t you tell us what you want with her and we’ll go easy on you?”

Nope, don’t think about how hot that was. You’ve got two powerful looking demons to worry about.

Romance and Baby. How did they survive?

Baby chuckled. “Oh you know, just removing some obstacles.” He shrugged.

“You really should just go home. We weren’t gonna mess with the Honmoon, I promise. But we can’t have some superhero messing with our plans.” Romance stepped forward, winking at Mira.

The boys advanced. “Last chance. We really are grateful for you for getting rid of Gwi-Ma, leave and we promise we won’t hurt you.” Rumi instinctively threw out an arm in front of Luna.

Baby looked at Romance. “Told you that wouldn’t work.”

Romance threw his hands in the air. “They weren’t even supposed to be here.”

The demons ran towards them and chaos broke loose again.

“Are you sure I can’t convince you to stand down Mira?” Mira slashed at him as he disappeared in a puff of red smoke. “I can feel how attracted you are to me.” The pink haired demon taunted.

“Dude, so not interested. I’m a lesbian but at least Abby was, like, objectively attractive.”

Wait.

Luna dodged a blast of energy and returned fire with shards of dark ice. “Oh wait, you’re those guys. The Saja Boys! The one-hit wonders! Also totally get it girl, he’s such an ice-sore.

Romance frowned as Mira laughed. His claws clashed against her blade. He ducked a knife aimed at his head and turned his attention to Zoey. Rumi kicked him aside as he lunged for her. He flew back towards the wall and landed in a crouch.

Baby teleported in the air above Rumi. A chunk of ice slammed into him and Romance was behind Luna in an instant. Mira did not offer him the chance to attack, blade already singing in the air, swinging towards him, forcing him to teleport away.

Baby got back up, dodging and weaving as knives flew towards him. Baby ducked under Mira’s weapon and swiped at Luna. She felt an arm wrap around her waist, tugging her out of the way. A flash of purple spun in front of her.

Rumi’s sword plunged down, cutting through the Saja boy. He collapsed, disintegrating into ash. She looked back at Luna. “You ok?” Luna smiled and nodded. “Thanks for the save, Rumi. ” She paused. “Not that I’m not enjoying this, but we should probably deal with the other guy.” Rumi looked down, seeing her own arm still circling Luna’s waist.

Oh god.

Rumi quickly let go, pink racing across her patterns. Mira and Zoey both looked at her with smirks on their faces.

She was seriously going to murder them.

A blast of fire hurtled towards Rumi.

Luna reacted on instinct. She twirled in front of Rumi, raising a wall of dark ice behind her back.

Luna was inches away from Rumi, staring into her golden eyes. Very pretty. She focused on dissipating the fire, tendrils of heat reaching out over her back. Luna winked as they locked eyes, Rumi staring at her in awe.

The flames at her back sputtered out, a faint thud hitting the ground. Luna lowered the wall and stepped back, turning to the other two. “Woo, what a fight! You guys were amazing!”

“You too! That trick you did with my weapon was just, so good, I’m definitely going to have to recreate that.” Mira held her weapon up, resting it on her shoulders.

“Thanks! Maybe we can fight together again sometime?”

Zoey smiled. “We’d love that, maybe we can collab on a song too? We’ll have our manager reach out.” Luna smiled. “That would be so amazing!”

Zoey pulled her in for a hug. “By the way, if you’re interested…” her voice dropped to a whisper, “You should totally kiss Rumi. Just… don’t forget who she belongs to.” Luna froze, face turning up into a smile as Zoey winked and walked away. Mira looked at Rumi with a smirk and tilted her head towards Luna. She waved goodbye and left Luna alone with Rumi.

It was unfair how pretty Luna Snow was, really. How was Rumi supposed to focus when a beautiful, selfless woman kept distracting her? At least Mira and Zoey had their shit together. On the other hand though, she was literally never going to hear the end of this. Rumi hadn’t had that many close calls in one night since Zoey and Mira had first started flirting with her.

Also… did they just give her permission to kiss Luna?

Luna breathed deeply and gathered herself.

She strutted over to Rumi, stopping directly in front of her. “ Hi.” Luna smiled. Rumi’s voice was breathy and uneven as she responded. “ Hi .” Luna leaned in slightly, hand settling on Rumi’s waist. “That was some impressive fighting back there. I really want to thank you for that save.”

Rumi’s breathing accelerated. “Y- you too. I liked watching you fight.” Luna smirked. “Oh, I bet. You know, your patterns are really pretty when they light up. Such a nice shade of pink.” Rumi blushed a deep crimson.

Thanks .” Luna’s face hovered millimeters away from Rumi’s. A frosty breath escaped Luna’s lips, the cold brushing across Rumi’s. “I’m really glad I got the chance to meet you, you know. You’ve been my favourite idol since you debuted.”

Rumi nodded, brain barely allowing space for thought, let alone words. Luna raised a hand to Rumi’s chin and tilted her head up.

Her lips grazed the older woman's. “I’m very glad I got the chance to do this, too.”

Luna’s lips were cold, yet impossibly warm against hers. The hand on her chin moved upwards, cupping her cheek as Luna kissed deeper. The moment stretched for an infinity. Skin on skin, chilling cold meeting blazing warmth.

Luna pulled away and Rumi barely restrained herself from whining at the absence of contact. “See you around, Rumi.” She blew a kiss at Rumi and turned to depart. The kiss hit Rumi’s cheek, a paper thin layer of ice melting against her skin. Luna propelled herself upwards and away on an ice slide, leaving Rumi alone in the night.

She really needed a cold shower. Or some quality time with her girlfriends. One of the two.

Notes:

Rumi topping a woman? Unheard of.

The first draft of this was so rough lmao
