Chapter Text

The first thing Tsukasa noticed was the constant buzzing in his ears.
It was adeep, humming, fluorescent buzzing that seemed to come from all directions. The second thing he noticed was the white.

Everything was white-too white. like a hospital, or a psych ward.

The walls gleamed, the pristine marble floor stretched endlessyl, reflecting the light back up at him. the faint, unsettling smell of something old and forgottenclung to the padded walls. his eyes flicked up. The ceiling tiles were stained with small black patches, like mold creeping quietly in the corners of a room.

“This... must be part of some elaborate stage set, yes?” Tsukasa’s uncertain voice echoed down the hallway. He forced a laugh, but it came out sharp and frightened. “nene? rui? Emu? If this is one of your guys' pranks, it’s not funny.”

His arms crossed tightly over his chest, and shifted his weight from one foot to the other.

No answer.

Only the buzzing.

He sighed adn started walking. Each step felt heavier than the last. The feeling of being watched crawled over his skin. This place didn’t feel right.

Ahead, doors were spaced evenly along both walls. White doors with numbers- He reached out and pushed open the first door to his right.

Inside, a single mirror leaned against the wall. Tsukasa’s reflection stared back- something about the image was... off. his eyes were too dark- too empty. and is smile was too wide, teeth yellowed.

A chill ran down his spine. He quickly shut the door, his eyes never leaving the mirror as he sofly closed the door.

Heart pounding, he moved on, his footsteps loud in the eerie quiet.

he opened the second door.

What he saw made his breath catch.

A creature crouched inside. Its arms were impossibly long, dragging along the floor, the joints bending in unnatural, jagged angles. Its back was hunched, twisted like a broken bone. For a moment, Tsukasa couldn’t see its face-then it turned.

Where its face should have been, there was only a mouth. A mouth so wide it stretched across the entire face, lined with razor-sharp teeth, more than a dozen rows of them, each stained with dark red blood.

Tsukasa froze. His mind screamed to run, but his body wouldn’t obey.

The creature lunged, its arms twisting and contorting in impossible angles, he could hear each joint pop as the creature moved towards him.

A scream tore from Tsukasa’s throat-loud, desperate, raw.

He suddenly gained control of his body- he spun around and ran.

The creature’s heavy footsteps thundered behind him, relentlessly chasing after tuskasa like predator chasing its prey.

He passed door after door-room 5, then 14, then 27- notdaring to look back.

His lungs burned, his legs screamed, but he pushed himself harder.

Finally, he reached door 32. He yanked it open and slammed it shut behind him.

Pressing his ear to the door as hde strained to hear the creatures footsteps.

silence.

His body sagged. Slowly, he slid down the door, the cold seeping through his clothes as he buried his face in his hands.

When he finally looked up, the space around him had shifted.

He was no longer in a plain white hallway.

He was surrounded by mirrors.

An endless maze of reflections.

Tsukasa swallowed hard and stepped forward.
