Summary
The river water was cold against Jean’s skin, and he shivered slightly as he stepped into it. He winced slightly, as much as he enjoyed the clean feeling of the rivers that streamed down from the mountains, he always found it a shame that the price for that seemed to be an icy cold temperature. He wasn’t normally a fan of cold water. But the sweat and grime sticking to his skin after three days on the road was icky enough for him to endure the discomfort for however long it would take to feel just a bit cleaner. Glancing back, he noted that his dragon had already settled down on the bank, lounging lazily in the sun, wings spread out to capture as much warmth as possible. The golden scales shimmered in the light, and Jean took a moment to appreciate the sight. Even when lying in the sun like a big, lazy cat, Reiner was magnificent and Jean knew that despite the relaxed appearance, Reiner was fully on guard, leaving Jean to safely wash himself in the river.
