It's Your Golden Hour

Summary:

Rumi still finds it hard to understand how Zoey and Mira can possibly love her, so her two girlfriends decide to prove it with a relaxing night out to the bathhouses

Notes:

I only watched KPop Demon Hunters yesterday and somehow I'm already writing a Polytrix oneshot...

Also I'm sorry if this idea has already been done before! I haven't read any Polytrix fanfics yet (I plan to soon) but I am aware there is a lot of them, so I am very sorry if so

Work Text:

Rumi is so relieved the secret is out and both Zoey and Mira are accepting of her. Sure, they were shocked at first, but both now understand the situation she was in, and care for her just as much as they did before.

Why wouldn't they? All three of the Huntr/x girls have been through a lot to get where they are now, and Zoey and Mira love Rumi so much, they could just never bring themselves to betray her.

And that's why, just recently, all three announced they were dating. Zoey had been planning to ask the other two girls out during their hiatus, but she got too anxious about it all. And Rumi wasn't planning to ask either out in fear of rejection and pushing both of her best friends away, so that left Mira to bluntly bring the question up out of nowhere.

And yet, even then, Rumi still worries that they will leave her behind. Even though they actually love Rumi for all of her, she still worries they are just putting up a front, and are secretly just pretending to accept her...

Just like Celine did...

But, Zoey and Mira are aware all of this. They know Rumi is still on high alert, and they know about know about Celine forcing her to keep her secret.

And because of that, they really want to help her feel loved. They are willing to try anything to show Rumi that.

So one night, on one of the very last nights before the end of their hiatus and when they would have to go back into being in the spotlight again, they planned out a night just for her...

But, the day didn't exactly go fully to plan. Despite being on hiatus, the Huntr/x girls still have things to do, and even though they thought everything and everyone would be chill, if didn't go exactly like that...

Today they had what was supposed to be a calm meet and greet, but it turned into the exact opposite of that. The fans really want them to just get back to making more music again, and the girls can usually handle eager fans, but they were too eager, going so far to say desperate.

And after that all went on for a little longer than planned, they all then felt a little pressured into starting production on a new song earlier than they were going to. And so, with that, they started trying to work on lyrics for a son they all hoped would be the best yet.

But, while they were doing that, Rumi was zoned out most of the time. She couldn't really think of any new lyrics because she was too busy overthinking her relationship with Zoey and Mira and how she doesn't feel she deserves to be with them.

And even though her two girlfriends aren't mind readers, they could see that she was stuck inside her head, and something was troubling her, and of course they wanted to help her out.

And that meant it was time for 'Mission: Golden Hour', as Zoey called it.

"Rumi, would you like to go to the bathhouses?" Zoey asked.

"Uhhhh... I'm not sure..." Rumi muttered, "Shouldn't we be working on lyrics?"

"We think you need a break," Mira said, standing up and getting ready to go, "We care more about you than the lyrics."

"Are you sure though?" The purple haired girl questioned.

"Please~?" The black haired girl begged, her puppy eyes glimmering with hope.

"It will only be for an hour," The pink haired girl added.

"Fine..." Rumi sighed reluctantly

"Yay!" Both of her girlfriend's held hands and jumped for joy together as they still couldn't get over the fact they could now finally take her to their favourite place in the whole world without her having much of an excuse to fight it anymore.

Once they were all ready to go, both took either one of Rumi's hands and led her out. They then walked down the streets until they all arrived at the bathhouse.

While Rumi was taking off her clothes in the changing rooms, she couldn't help but keep on looking at her patterns in the mirror. Sure, they are now healed, but they are still somewhat visible, and they still remind her of what she used to be.

What she still kind of is, in a way.

She thought her dark thoughts and memories were then going to start taking over again, but her two girlfriends calling her name snapped her out of it.

"I'm coming!" She called back as she wrapped a towel around herself and then went to join them.

The three girls sat down in the bath and all of the tension in their minds began to melt away in the warmness of the water. Rumi has never went to therapy before, but this comfort she felt was just like the relief she had been told about others feeling when they went to it.

It makes her wish she had started going with the girls much sooner.

But she couldn't before...

And something in the back of her mind tells her she shouldn't now, and that she should just go back to covering up again...

She starts to feel tense once more, worse than she had felt earlier. The water isn't helping much now as it feels like it's now boiling on her skin and makes her think she will bubble away until nothing is left of her or the water will rise up so high it will suck her under and she won't be able to save herself from drowning.

She thinks she deserves that-

"Rumi!" Zoey called, her voice fully of worry.

"Y-yes?" Rumi was once again snapped out of her thoughts and tried to quickly put on a fake smile, but it looked quite wobbly.

"Are you okay?" Mira asked, giving her a concerned look.

She would have lied them, but she doesn't want to lie to either of them anymore. They don't deserve that kind of treatment from her.

They deserve to know the truth.

"Not really..." The purple haired girl sighed.

"What's wrong?" The pink haired girl asked.

"I still feel guilty about everything that's happened, and all the secrets I kept from both of you, and I feel bad..." She explained.

"But it's all over now!" The black haired girl put an arm around her left shoukder for reassurance, "You've told us now, and made it up to us, and we accept you! We love you, too!"

"I know, but I still don't feel like I deserve any of your love or kindness..." Rumi muttered, "I'm part demon, I don't deserve it..."

"You need to forget everything Celine told you, because none of what she said or did was right," The pink haired girl argued, putting her arm around her right shoulder,  just like how her other girlfriend had done, "You do deserve our love! You do deserve our kindness!"

"Are you really sure?" She sniffled, trying to hold in her tears she didn't realise were trying to come out.

"We love you so much! Of course we're sure!" Zoey replied.

"Also, we've been through a hell of a lot to get where we are now and to be together too, so obviously we're sure!" Mira added, "Girl, we would literally die for you."

"MIRA?!" Her black haired girlfriend exclaimed.

"What?" Her pink haired girlfriend questioned, "You would do the same!"

Both girls gave each other playfully angry looks. This made Rumi chuckle, and she then put her arms around both of her girlfriends before kissing them both on the cheeks.

"I love you both," She said, smiling without feeling the need to cry now.

"And we love you too," Zoey and Mira both replied, smiling back at her.

All three of the girls smiled as they snuggled into each other and stared off into the distance. They've all been through so much, but they're here now, and they're together too.

And no matter what, they will always have each other's backs. And this gives Rumi the final bit of reassurance she needs to finally accept that does deserve both of them as her girlfriends, and does deserve all of the love and kindness they give her.

They really make her feel special, and she can't thank either of them enough for that.

After their skin started to wrinkle from being in the water for quite a while, they decided to get out and get changed back into their clothes.

And, when Rumi looked in the mirror of the changing cubicle this time, she found herself smiling rather than frowning. She had a clear head rather than a full one, and she just felt so much better.

And it's all thanks to her girlfriends.

And now that she can finally think and now even see clearly, she can actually understand why both of them like her patterns so much, and why they want to get matching tattoos of them too. She was originally against it, but maybe she will let them now...

Once they were all finished changing, they left the bathhouses and they found a beautiful sight outside. Even though they haven't made new music in a while, the Honmoon is still golden, and it's a beautiful sight to see.

The Huntr/x girls stared at it for a little while in awe, as they still couldn't fully grasp the idea that they all helped to create this together. Their efforts and love for each other has created total harmony, and it's such a wondrous thing.

"I'm glad everything went to plan," Zoey said softly as she looked over at Mira.

"Same," Mira nodded as she looked back at her, "This really was a 'golden hour', after all."

"Wait, you planned this all? Just for me?!" Rumi exclaimed.

"Of course we did, silly!" Both of her girlfriend's replied.

The purple haired girl kind of wanted to cry at that moment, because of how nice both of them are, but she felt a smile spreading across her face instead. They really do love her, and she can't deny that anymore.

She can't cry about it either, because their love is the most important thing in the world to her.

"Thank you," She whispered, "I love you two so much..."

"And we love you too, Rumi," Zoey and Mira whispered back.

But after a while of staring, Rumi found her stomach begin to rumble. She hadn't had food in a while, so of course she was hungry.

She had been holding both of her girlfriends hands before, but she let go to run down the street.

"First one who gets back gets all the food!" The purple haired girl turned her head to call back as she continued to speed down the path.

"Hey!" Both of her girlfriend's shouted back as they tried to catch up with her.

The hour they spent relaxing was truly deserved by all of them. They've all worked so hard and fought through so much, but they're together now. And in love too.

They're golden now, and so was that hour of rest they had together...
