Chapter 1: Golden
Rumi stood on the stage, striking the last pose.
The Song ends and the crowd explodes in cheers. But Rumi didn't see the fans, she could only see the glowing lines that stretched over the fans like a blanket.
Again and Again she saw Golden light.
The Golden Honmoon was nearly sealed.
Maybe one more show, one more hit, and Rumi would finally be free.
"Did we just see gold?"
Asked Rumi Zoey and Mira, hoping she was not imagining it.
"Yeah. I can't believe we're doing it."
Cheers Mira.
"Ahh it's is exciting." Shrieked Zoey, jumping up and down.
Rumi took a deep breath.
"Okay. You know what that means. It's time to release the Song."
"Yeees! It's finally time"
Cheered Mira, she had spend hours on perfecting the choreography and visuals.
"We're gonna turn it Gold. YAY."
Again Mira.
Rumi chuckled.
Golden, the Perfect song.
The Song the girls composed over years and put so much energy in.
Finally it was the perfect moment to release it.
The Perfekt time to release it NOW.
Rumi knew that she needed this break as much as her friends but she couldn't pass on this opportunity.
She was so close.
The Cheering held on until the elevator stopped.
"Who is ready for the break?"
Greeted the best manager in the world, Bobby the girls.
"Heyy Bobby."
Greeted the girls.
"What a way to end the world tour."
Praised Bobby the girls while their assistants dressed them in bathrobes and gave them drinks and snacks.
"That finale with the guy in the Demon suit exploding into confetti?"
"So chill"
"Those special effects looked amazing."
Praised two assistants holding a plate of sushi rolls for Zoey. Who dug in as if she hadn't had a whole plate on the plane earlier.
Mira chuckles. "Oh yeah, 'Special Effects'"
Rumi tried to stay serious at Miras sarcastic tone everyone seemed to overhear.
"Look at these social numbers, they're off the charts."
Cheered Bobby and showed Rumi his phone.
HUNTR/X was first place in the top 10 charts by far.
Bobby put his phone away again.
"And to celebrate, I booked you a week-long staycation at the fanciest, most exclusive relaxation resort in Korea."
"Sorry, Bobby. We already have plans." Interupted Mira.
"What? What plans?" Asked Bobby his mind probably already on the way to cancel everything.
Zoey let out a sigh. "We got the hottest ticket in town."
She leaned over to Mira. "To our Couch" they said in perfect synchro.
"Couch, couch, couch" they Cheered.
Rumi didn't join in when the two jumped past her.
She just put a hand on Bobby's shoulder.
"Bobby, you should enjoy the resort. This tour has been grueling for everyone. You deserve it."
She said, knowing Bobby wouldn't ask twice.
Rumi chuckled when she heard how Bobby let himself be treated like a king.
"See you in a couple weeks girls." He greeted while he left.
"Bye Bobby" the girls said in unison.
Without Bobby in the way Rumi had full control over all launches.
She just hoped her friends wouldn't be too mad at her.
They agreed to it, right?
Back at the Apartment, or how Zoey called it the HUNTR/X Base.
Rumi launched Golden.
The thought of watching hundreds of 2 second turtle clips felt like wasted time to her.
Not when the golden Honmoon was this close to be sealed.
So just when Zoey and Mira sat down.
Amounts of doordash food between them.
Rumi finished putting on the Golden costume.
"Heyyy. Have a good break?"
She asked barely holding back her smile.
"Huh" made Mira, her face changed from relaxed to tense.
"We literally just sat dowwwwn"
"Why are you in your new costume?"
Asked Zoey, seriously worried, but more about the fact that she didn't get to enjoy her break.
Something clicked in both and they sat up.
"Rumi, you didn't."
Rumi stood still grinning while her friends puzzled together what happened.
"Did you announce the new Single?"
Mira asked.
"And, the promo starts tomorrow--"
Rumi showed Mira and Zoey her phone.
"Tonight!!??" Both girls asked.
Rumi nodded handing the girls their costumes. "Rumi noo" "Nooo" they cried out.
Trying to convince Rumi to, well tired was a weak word for their whining.
"Girls, you won't believe this." Said Bobby scrolling through his phone, still parts of a peel of face mask on his skin.
"Bobbyyy." Cried Mira her voice in over dramatic betrayal.
"No more relaxing time." Whined Zoey.
Bobby overhearing the girls cries continues to scroll through his phone.
"Your new single is on fire! Everyone is listening to it!"
The girls whining ended as soon as it started.
A song that hit was always good.
Finally they joined in Rumis enthusiasm.
The first live performance.
Rumi leaned against the walls of her private dressing room.
Celine had made sure of it that she, Rumi got one on her own.
Rumis heart beating loud in her chest.
She heard Zoey and Mira cheering in their joined dressing room.
Rumi looked in the big mirrors in front of her.
The purple patterns on her skin, that looked like cracks, now covered her arms completely and Rumi already spotted the first edges around her neck.
How much time did she have left?
How many tries to weave the golden Honmoon did she have until the others saw who she really was.
"Maybe they'll understand?" She heard herself say.
"No, Rumi. Nothing can change until your patterns are gone."
Echoed Celines voice in her head.
Quickly she pulled her heavy jacket over her arms. She could no longer bare to see these purple lines that showed who her foolish mother loved.
A Demon, how could she love the very thing that seeked to destroy her.
In the end he killed her, took her soul and left the infant Rumi on her own.
If Celine hadn't taken her in despite her being half Demon, Rumi wouldn't have survived.
She pulled up the star zipper, rehearsing the lines that never made it into the song.
They where to sad.
Rumi had never showed her friends these lines.
To afraid that they might figure out what they meant.
Just today, today was the day, then the Honmoon was sealed and Rumi would loose her Demon side.
That's what Celine has promised her when she asked if the golden Honmoon would force her to go to the demon realm since the Honmoon was supposed to keep all demons locked away.
No Doubt, Rumi had no other choice, she had to trust Celine.
Rumi stepped out on the stage.
All chairs and more filled with atleast ten-thousand fans.
The music started playing and she sung.
She sung for her life.
For her freedom.
The Honmoon lit up and over ten-thousand of fans sung along and Rumi felt her sight getting blurry.
Her throat hurt but she continued singing while one golden line after the next weaved around them.
Zoey threw Rumi an exited glance and they again, put everything in their song.
Pride fills Rumi, she is so proud it makes her heart hurt.
The Gold blurs in Rumis eyes and she blinks.
Trying not to cry on stage.
The last note ends.
The last pose.
The fans explode in cheers and the Golden Honmoon shines bright over whole Korea.
"Should we sing it a second time?"
Asked Zoey and leaned over to Rumi.
Rumi could barely stand. But she hid it.
"Rumi? You look exhausted. Let's end the show here. We did it."
Responded Mira and put a hand on Rumis shoulder.
Zoey nodded.
"Thank you soo much for having us here. But sadly the show is over now and HUNTR/X will now be on hiatus." Said Zoey quickly
"Thank you all for you support and--." Added Mira.
"Please continue to enjoy our music."
All girls said in union and walked off the stage.
The moment they where shielded from the look of fans. Rumis legs gave up.
The barely noticable pain in her chest she first thought as pride was now burning, setting her whole body on fire.
"Rumi are you Okay!!" Yelled Zoey and rushed to Rumis sight.
"Water now!" Odered Mira while Rumi tried to get up but failed.
It felt like she was pulled into the ground.
"Its nothing, I just over done myself that's all."
Rumis voice felt hoarse and rough as her field of vision got smaler and smaler.
The Golden strings of the Honmoon running between her Fingers.
For a moment Rumi thought the Purple marks covered her whole body her heart immediately racing 10 times faster.
"Water, I just need water."
She gasped then she fell through the ground and everything went black. Chapter 1: Golden
