Summary
He let out a noise of triumph when he saw the faint, sterile glow of the porchlight up ahead, only intensifying the state of utter darkness around him. As he hurried his gait to reach the front steps, he noticed the small, slit-like windows on the top of the side walls also flooded the same harsh light. A bit odd considering none of the staff used the building for anything except piling old sports equipment and the occasional shower at odd hours, but it wouldn’t’ve been the first time someone had left a spare light on inside.
He reached the porch a few moments later, at ease with the low buzzing noise every building with a generator on camp seemed to emit.
He reached for the doorknob, pulling it open and–
CLANK!
“Get out, get the hell out!”
