Reading The Constriction in Breathing Air

Summary:

After the Second Giant War, the remaining six members of The Seven, Reyna, Nico, and Thalia were invited to Olympus for a special rewards ceremony. However, when they arrived, they discovered that they had been summoned by the Fates. The Fates decided to show another universe, where they made different choices, and how that impacted the lives of themselves and their friends. Joined by the Olympian Gods, they started reading the first book, The Constriction in Breathing Air.

Chapter 1: The Summoning

Chapter Text

August 8, 2010.

It had been one week since the end of the Second Giant War, and the camps were still recovering.

The remaining 6 members of The Seven, Reyna, Thalia, and Nico were invited to Olympus by the Gods for a rewards ceremony, the same as the one after the Second Titan War. The demigods that had not yet seen Olympus before, marveled at the Empire State Building. As they walked onto tue steps of Olympus for the first time, their jaws dropped. Reyna seemed as though she was about to drop to her knees and pray, and Jason looked like he was about to start crying. The veteran Olympus-ers walked them to the main throne room, where all of the gods were sitting.

Zeus looked up, angrily. “Why are you here, without invitation?”

Piper stepped forward, her brow furrowed and her mouth frowning. “My lord, we were invited. We were specifically all invited by you.” She waved her invite in the air.

The gods asked around at each other, questioning who had sent them and why. Before anyone got an answer, the room fell silent.

The Morai, the Fates, walked into the room. It was many peoples’ first times seeing them in real life, and they could tell that it was monumental news.

“We brought you here,” the middle one stepped forward and announced. “to show you how your lives could have been different, the fates of yours and your friends lives changed. Time will be stopped until you finish, and then you will be sent back to where you were, to think about the choices you have made in this universe, and the other.”

Before anyone could ask any other questions, a large stack of books appeared in the middle of the floor. Hermes cautiously picked the top one off and read off the title.

“The Constriction in Breathing Air.”

The gods sat in their semi-circle of drama, created sofas for the demigods, and got ready to read.
