The Chronicles of Emmeline Nash.

Summary:

Bobby, Athena and their daughter, Emmeline.

Notes:

Hi!

Happy Friday!

I just wanted to start off and say that this new little series is going to be a challenge. First and foremost. But that's kinda why I'm doing it.

I also love Bathena as parents and absolutely love reading all of the incredible fics from all the incredible authors who already write Bobby and Athena as parents. And so I guess you could say I'm attempting at joining in?

If you've ready 'Destiny' then you know about Emmeline already but if you haven't then that's okay. This is basically an introduction to the character.

Anyway, ramble over.

I hope you enjoy this and I really do look forward to reading your comments. If you have any suggestions or ideas then please, don't hesitate!

As always,

Love&Hugs,

Wisno Xx

Chapter 1: Da bestest day.

Chapter Text

The Sunday morning sun had just started to break through the curtains.

Golden rays shining in, bouncing off the glossy wooden floorboards and allowing the warmth to settle over the room. Birds chirped outside as the city began to wake up, the noise of traffic still subtle but it was there.

Bobby had woken first and due to the early hour and the extremely comfortable position, he didn’t move. Not even when Athena woke naturally beside him, turning in his arms where their limbs tangled even more and their lips fused. The kiss slow and sweet, just as they should be on Sunday mornings.

Though when the kiss continued and hands began to wonder, Athena quickly realised her husband had other ideas on how to start the day.

“Bobby- - baby. She’s gonna be up- - any- - minute.” Athena had struggled to get her words out with Bobby refusing to break the kiss for longer than a second. “Bobby!”

But, naturally, Bobby ignored her. Shaking his head ever so slightly as his body shifted and Athena now lay beneath him. “It’s still early.”

Athena tutted at this. “She’s an early riser.”

“We have time.”

“No we don’t.” She argued with a laugh, not helping the situation by allowing her hands to slide underneath Bobby’s pyjama top. Fingers tracing the bare skin at his sides. “We can continue this later.”

Bobby’s lips moved to her neck. “Later is too far away.”

“Yes but your daughter is not.” Athena tried hard to ignore his advances, though with Bobby finding that spot on her neck the restraint was slipping.

“I’ll be quick.”

This time her hand found his hair but didn’t tug him away. “You’re too much of a perfectionist to be quick, Bobby. You know that.”

“I like to be thorough.” His response came against her collar bone, teeth grazing the skin there before Bobby ventured even lower. “You deserve that kind of treatment, baby.”

Athena tugged this time, wrapping her fingers around Bobby’s hair. “You going cute on me now?”

“If it gets your shorts off quicker.”

She tried to argue but the moment Bobby placed her legs around his waist, Athena lost the ability to speak. The way her body responds to her husbands, even after almost a decade together is still quite astonishing. That want and need for one another never fading but instead deepening as the years go by.

And this morning is no different.

“You’re lucky I love you.” Athena eventually told him, sucking in a sharp breath when Bobby’s hands dipped underneath her pyjama shorts and began to tug them down.

“Oh I am.” He whispered against her skin, finally looking up to her once more. “The luckiest.”

Their eyes met for the briefest of moments before Bobby began to settle himself against her, aligning his body up with Athena’s. Lips close and bodies even closer.

Though just before Bobby could do anything more, the knock came.

And loud.

“Mama! Daddy! Da sun is out da window!”

Bobby groaned a little, playfully dropping his head to Athena’s shoulder as she laughed. Tapping his side in the next moment, silently asking Bobby to move.

“Don’t say it.” He warned, cracking one eye open.

But Athena just ignored him. “I told you so.”

“Evil woman.”

She nodded at that, letting out a small chuckle before reaching for her robe. “That’s me. But you love me anyway.”

“Damn right I do.” Bobby smirked at that, sitting up as he watched Athena re-adjust her pyjama shorts and walk over to the door. “Later?”

“Later.” Athena confirmed with a wink, placing a hand on the door handle. “You ready?”

Smiling, Bobby nodded. “Let the little beast in.”

Not even seconds later, Athena opened up the bedroom door and revealed their little girl.

It was a sight that caused both hearts to melt as they looked down at her. The bed head was ridiculously adorable. Her curls were everywhere with lopsided bunches and some strands falling upon her face. The pastel, floral pyjamas were also a crooked. With one leg bunched up to her knee whilst the other dragged along the floor.

The adorable and precious face of Emmeline Liara Nash now stood wonderfully in the doorway.

“Hi!”

“Well, good morning!” Athena acted surprised, smiling even wider when a giggle broke free. “How is my little Emmie this morning?”

The toddler wrapped her arms around Athena a moment later. “I slepted so good, Mama. But I know why I woke up.”

Athena took them back to the bed, glancing to Bobby who watched them with a smile of his own. “Oh yeah? And why’s that?”

“My bewwy is hungwy.”

Bobby gasped at that, reaching for Emmeline the moment she met the mattress. “Your belly is hungry?! But we fed it last night!”

“Dat was for so long ago!” Emmeline giggled, trying her hardest to dodge Bobby’s tickles. “It da mornin’ now, Daddy,”

Bobby nodded slowly and with wide eyes. “So does that mean it’s breakfast time?”

“Yeah! It bweakfast time!” She clapped, bouncing a little. “And I know what I want.”

“Oh! And what’s that?”

Emmeline looked at both her parents before leaning in a little closer, whispering randomly which only made Bobby and Athena laugh that little bit more. “Pancakes. With swrawberries and sywup.”

Both adults gasped at that, looking at each other and then back at Emmeline who smiled wide.

“Well if that’s what Emmeline wants, then that’s what Emmeline gets.” Bobby declared after a moment, going back to tickling her once more. “Do you wanna help me?”

Her perfect brown eyes lit up at that. “Can I? Weally?”

“Of course you can.” Bobby confirmed with a smile. “But first.. I think we gotta give Mama a kiss.”

Emmeline leaned closer to Bobby then. “Wike a monsta?”

“Like a monster.” He smirked, “You ready?”

“Weady.”

Turning around, Athena pretended she couldn’t hear them. Looking down at her nails as she waited for Bobby to grab her shoulders and gently pull her back. All before kisses were placed upon Athena’s face and Emmeline laughed so much that it hurt.

The three Nash’s starting their Sunday morning off in the best way.

After breakfast, Athena and Bobby did a quick scour of the kitchen whilst Emmeline played in the living room. The grocery list and meals for the week planned and prepped before the family got ready and headed to the grocery store. Another Sunday tradition that Bobby and Athena have come to really enjoy, especially now Emmeline is that little bit older and can help with some things. Always pointing to products she recognised as well as well as requesting certain items that caught her eye.

By the time they got home, it was nearing lunch time. The entire morning being spent together and they were determined that the afternoon was going to be spent the same way. With the groceries put away, a load of laundry put on and lunch served, the rest of the afternoon was spent in the pool. Splashing around and burning off that seemingly unlimited supply of energy Emmeline seemed to have. The toddler jumping off the side and into her Bobby’s arms time after time, as well as practising her kicking with Athena. The couple wanting to prepare Emmeline for swimming lessons that would be starting in the summer and introducing some of the techniques early would help with that.

It had just gone five when Bobby served dinner.

The quick and easy meal of grilled chicken with rice and veggies going down a treat. The decision to eat on the patio going well as the sounds of the city played in the background, and the cool air wrapped around them. Emmeline’s hair still damp from swimming and her smile still as wide. Teeth glistening under the porch lights as a rogue piece of rice balanced on her lip. Stories from the day being retold with laughter, the small moment reminding Bobby and Athena just how wonderful their life is.

When it came to the night routine, Emmeline had finally started to show some signs of the day catching up to her.

Athena was able to give her daughter a bath without fuss. No arguments of getting in and no arguments when it was time to get out.

Bobby stood off to the side a little shocked when Emmeline didn’t disagree with his choice of her pyjamas.

And the both of them shared a surprised smile when their girl never delayed the brushing of her teeth or trying the potty one last time before finally, slipping into bed.

“You got Dee Dee?” Bobby asked his daughter as her head hit the pillow.

He got a sleepy nod in return. “She sleepin’ alweady. Under my arm, Daddy.”

“Good.” Bobby smiled, glad to hear Emmeline had her comfort teddy close. “Dee Dee’s going to make sure you have a wonderful sleep, isn't she?”

“Keep me safe?”

He nodded, bopping Emmeline’s nose. “Exactly.”

“No one is getting past Dee Dee the Dragon.” Athena stepped back into the bedroom just in time. Emmeline’s bottle now refilled with fresh water, just in case she gets thirsty during the night. “Isn’t that right, baby?”

“Dat wight, Mama.” Emmeline gave a drowsy smile, the toddler now fighting to keep her eyes open. “You work in da mornin’?”

This time Bobby spoke. “We both do, baby. You’re back at daycare, remember?”

Emmeline was quiet for a moment. Just slow blinking and serious thoughts. “I have PB and J?”

Athena barked out a quiet laugh, leaning into Bobby’s shoulder. “Of course you can, baby.”

“And cumber.” Emmeline added. “Wiv owanges, just wike Daddy.”

Bobby nodded eagerly, finding it rather endearing that his three year old remembers that he takes an orange to work with him for a quick snack between calls. “Cucumber and oranges. You got it, kiddo.”

And this time, Emmeline spoke through a yawn. “Tank oo.”

“Alright you.” Athena giggled once more, pulling away from Bobby and reaching for the night light. “Time for sleep.”

Rolling over ever so slightly, Emmeline watched as both parents stood. Taking it in turns to give their daughter a kiss and a cuddle before the big light was turned off, letting the star projector dimly light up the room. Both Bobby and Athena watching Emmeline for a second more as she began to doze off, smiling to themselves for a moment.

Though before either of them could leave the room, Emmeline spoke up once more.

“Mama? Daddy?”

Athena turned first with Bobby directly behind her. “Yes, baby?”

“Wuv you.”

Bobby tutted softly, not even a little ashamed that his eyes glossed over. “We love you too, Em. So much.”

“Fank you for da bestest day.” She whispered this time, as her eyes drooped and the land of sleep finally took over. Leaving both Bobby and Athena in the doorway, even more in love with their little girl than they were a minute ago.

And reminding them once more of just how lucky they are.
