A lot has happened since the fun gang beat the knight once and for all. Tears were shed, secrets were revealed and some people were lost along the way. But not Ralsei. Ralsei managed to find himself, in a way. It was hard for him to adjust to the lightness of the new world he now resided in since he once only ever knew the dark. But just because he wasn’t “just a darkner” anymore, didn’t mean he ever stopped caring for his friends. Especially a certain bluebird that he can’t help but constantly think about.
Ralsei has currently been staying with Susie, it’s small but it feels like home. With the help of Kris’s mother and Kris themself, Susie’s place felt like a real home. He never thought he’d get used to climbing up to reach his bed but when Susie suggested a bunk-bed for a more spacious area, he simply couldn’t say no to her.
Everything is new for him, he thinks to himself as he lays down on the top-bunk. New home, new friends, new surroundings and fortunately new opportunities. Kris had gifted Ralsei one of their brother’s older phones to which Ralsei was extremely grateful for. He figured out how to function a telephone quite quickly and luckily for him, he’d be needing it if he ever thought of reaching out to a certain someone.
It’s been a while since Ralsei has last seen Berdly, he’s worried. Facing the ceiling from his bed, he looks through his contact list and hovers his finger over the “Berdly!” contact. Hesitant but concerned, he starts to text Berdly in hopes of finding out if he’s been alright since they’ve last seen eachother.
Ralsei: Hi Berdly!
Berdly: Greetings dearest prince, how can I be of service?
Ralsei: I just wanted to know how you’ve been, haven’t seen you in a few days-
Berdly: Ah, yess well. I’ve been home all week..
Ralsei: Susie wants to know why you haven’t left your house
Berdly: Susie wants know?!
Ralsei: Yeah haha, she says Noelle brought it up while showing me around town the other day
Berdly: Well I simply haven’t been feeling so well.
Ralsei: Oh you’re sick?
Berdly: Nothing a gamer can’t overcome of course.
Ralsei: Have you seen a doctor yet?
Berdly: um well no
Ralsei: J’.LAM
Berdly: what
Ralsei: SUS I E S TAK M OPB HONE
Berdly: Susie is what?
Ralsei: ILL BE RITE THERE.
“Susie!!” he yelled. She had swiped his phone while he was still on the top bunk. He climbed down from his bed and as he reached for his phone as Susie held it up too high for her goat friend to reach. “So that’s why we haven’t seen him huh..”.
“Yes, and I’m deeply concerned so if you could please give me the phone-“.
“I texted him saying you’d come over” she says as she hands the phone back.
“W-What?!!” he looks at the most recent response Susie had sent. “Susie- I- I don’t even know where he lives!”.
“It’s not far actually, he lives in the apartment complex next to us.” Ralsei raises an eyebrow and questions how she knows this.
“Noelle showed me okay! His parents are never ever really there so she hangs out at Berdly’s place to study sometimes.. “. Susie sits down on her bottom bunk, facing toothpaste boy.
“I.. I guess I have to go don’t I”.
“Yup. It’s a shame your magic doesn’t work in this world though.. cause uh that means no healing magic..”
Ralsei sighs as he puts on his shoes “Luckily, I’ve been doing some reading.”
“Hm?”
“Well- incase of an emergency I picked up a few medical books from the library..” he finished tying his shoes. Susie raised her eyebrow at him in response. “Just.. the simple stuff, like fevers and.. comas.”
“Comas are NOT simple” she said.
“Anything could happen!” he responded.
“I’m just being cautious .. that’s all..”. He started heading towards the exit, “Will you be alright here, alone?” he asks.
“Yeah dude I’ll be fine, I’ve been meaning to rewatch Bloodsuckers: Death Lurks anyway and I can’t exactly watch that with you around.”
“It’s just too much for me- you know that..”
“Don’t worry dude, luckily Noelle’s into stuff like this.”
Ralsei gives Susie a big smile and tilts his head as he says “Lucky how?”.
Susie’s face is met with faint blush “Uhh.. go check on Berdly! Before he melts away or sumthing..”.
Ralsei giggles as he closes the door behind him.
He notices that it’s getting dark, he should head over to Berdly’s before it gets too dark to see at all.
He starts to walk over to his bluebird’s place.
