Chapter Text
You roam a forest you're not familiar with. You remember choosing to do something for a program that you've never heard of before. They said if you did what they told you to do, you wouldn't have to serve a death sentence from a crime you didn't do but was framed for.
You stumble across a run-down shop. You take a peek inside; there seems to be a man inside, staring at the clock hanging on the wall. You try to open the door, but it won't budge. The man suddenly shouted at you: "Hey! Stop trying to break in my goddamn shop, will ya?"
You get startled from the sudden outburst of the man, making you run away deeper into the forest.
You slow down to catch your breath, before realizing you're more lost than earlier in the forest. You decide to start walking around to get familiar with your surroundings.
As you walk around trying to get used to the environment, you hear a faint low growl of something revving up deep in the forest. You notice this, and decide to investigate what made the sound, so you begin to walk to where you think you last heard the sound. The longer you walk, the louder the sound of something revving became, to the point you think you're just right next to the source of the sound.
-And then you hear the noise of a chainsaw slicing through flesh and bones, with the sound of someone screaming in pain, before it suddenly stops. You're then left in complete silence other than the wind blowing through leaves.
You begin to feel paranoid; You think that you'll meet the same fate as the person earlier. Your hands start trembling from fear. You attempt to take a step back, but you don't have the confidence to do it.
You slowly hear footsteps getting nearer, and the sound of bushes rustling around you. Your heart begins to race, you feel more paranoid, and you feel the unnatural presence of an entity getting closer. The mist parts—not like it's pushed, but like it’s afraid. A cloaked figure glides through, eyes glowing dimly, footsteps silent but wrong.
No warning. No sound. Just the sudden weight of something falling, limbs outstretched like broken machinery. The forest floor buckles, kicked up in a blast of leaves and dirt. Its form—tall, contorted, and cloaked in stitched shadows—rises from the impact in a twitching fluid motion, head tilted unnaturally.
His gaze doesn’t pierce—it consumes. An absence of expression that somehow knows too much. You freeze, as if all heat drained from your skin. Your grip slips.
CHAIN doesn’t speak.
Behind it, the forest seems to warp. Bark blackens, leaves flutter upward like gravity reversed. Time feels too slow, too fast, all at once.
Then CHAIN steps forward.
Not towards you.
Around you.
His movement is wrong, nonlinear, like the world bends to let it pass through without touching the ground.
Only then do you realize—
He wasn’t hunting.
He was waiting.
But why would he wait for someone like you?
The two of you simply stare at each other, the only difference is that CHAIN is observing you-your body, and you're just trembling in fear as CHAIN towers over you. CHAIN's weapon-his chainsaw that's strapped to his right arm isn't turned on, which seemed a bit abnormal, despite you not knowing why it felt so. He just continued to slowly walk around you... observing you.
CHAIN makes his move, and you brace yourself from what's about to happen.
And then-nothing comes.
You look back at him and see him stare at you.
You feel afraid of CHAIN... But can't help feel another strange feeling as you stare at him.
CHAIN moves closer and reaches out...
You close your eyes and wait for him to kill you.
But nothing happens.
Then, you feel a hand caress your face. You see CHAIN caressing your cheek, you don't know why he would do that, especially for someone like his appearance (and backstory).
You subtly moved your head down to take a peek at your watch so CHAIN wouldn't notice and realize that there is still 4 hours before sunrise.
You try to move away but CHAIN simply tightens his grip on your wrist. CHAIN pushes you against a tree and let out a yelp as he does. He slowly moves his face closer to yours, to the point you hear his loud breathing. He presses his body to keep you against the tree and uses his arm to move his mask to the side, enough to reveal his lips.
CHAIN then presses his lips against yours. Against your better judgement, you slowly wrapped your arms around CHAIN's neck and pull him closer, deepening the kiss. Both of you held the kiss for a while, before you pull away to catch your breath.
Afterwards, CHAIN didn't look breathless in the slightest. You think to yourself: "Damn, this guy doesn't even look fazed by that kiss..."
You and CHAIN stare at each other for a moment, not saying a single word. Though, it feels like you understand something deep within him, and the same goes for him as well.
Your self-preservation instincts kick back again, reminding you that this man can be dangerous. So, you attempt to slip away from CHAIN's grip, but he pulls you back closer to him, this makes you blush, but you also realize this makes your chances of escaping slimmer. You start to get flustered and try to cover your face with your hands, but CHAIN pulls your hands away and kisses you again, this time it was more intense than the previous one.
The kiss was longer this time as well; it's like CHAIN doesn't want it to end. When both of you pull away, CHAIN wrapped his arm around you to the best of his ability's. You hug back, starting to feel comfort around him.
You both held this small, tender embrace with each other. You feel warmth around your chest as if the strange feeling you had earlier for CHAIN burned stronger.
You pushed CHAIN on the ground before getting on top of him and laid your head on his chest. CHAIN runs his fingers through your hair, softly ruffling it. After that, he gave you a tender kiss on your forehead.
As you begin to feel comfortable with him, another survivor came across you while you were still in an awkward position with CHAIN. The person gets startled and confused due to what both you and CHAIN were doing right now. As if remembering what he's supposed to do, CHAIN pushed you to the side and stood up then walking up to the random survivor with evil intent. Obviously, the person started to run away and CHAIN chases after them, leaving you there standing alone as you see their silhouette slowly disappearing.
