Work Text:

Music rang throughout the house. The sound of voices singing, talking, laughing. An abundance of drinks were flowing, welcoming them to their new home.

The walls were still bare, furniture few and far between, but it was theirs. Alex and Jack had all they ever wanted. The best friends, their own house, and mostly each other.

Throughout the years they'd been together, they'd spent so much time either on tour or in each other's apartments that buying a house together got pushed to the back of their minds. Yet suddenly they realised they were ready to settle down.

They'd only been in a few days. Once they got the keys, they invited everyone around to christen the new home with a party. They couldn't provide much, but drinks, friends and music were all they needed to celebrate.

The couple didn't expect the party to continue into the early hours of the morning, but they didn't mind. The sound of laughter filled the air while they talked about memories of touring, before the two were together. When everyone knew they were in love except them.

Before they knew it, the darkness of the outside began to fade. The sky began to glisten, changing from pitch black, full of stars, slowly lightening as it welcomed the day.
Then came the fiery orange glow of the sun rising from the hills behind their house. It lit the house with a warm hue, reminding everyone that they had been there all night.

As their friends began to disperse into the morning light, the couple settled down into their new home. They looked around at the mess everyone created. Cans, bottles and glasses were dumped on any surfaces available. Leftover takeaway boxes on the kitchen counters. Bowls and dishes piled in the sink.
"Shall we deal with this in the morning?" Jack questions.
"It is the morning idiot" chuckles Alex in return.
"You know what I mean Lex, come on, let's chill."

They made their way to the singular couch surrounded by camping chairs and stools, all they could find so all their friends could have a seat. Slumping onto the couch, Jack let out a yawn and leant into his boyfriend. His head fit perfectly onto Alex's shoulder.

Alex's hands ran up into Jack's hair, combing through it with his fingers, twirling strands and calming his already sleepy boyfriend.

"Lex tonight was perfect", he yawned, "I never want it to end.
"Luckily for us Jay, it never has to."

Notes:

This is literally just cute fluff. Felt it was needed after sad fics.
