Say It Again

Summary:

The first time one of them said it, Hiori was hugging (so, bothering) Nanase while he cooked breakfast for the three of them. Still sleepy and not yet real enough to think coherently, he didn't notice Isagi quietly drinking his tea while leaning on the table until he spoke up, voice so soft and full of happiness that it made Hiori's heart flutter in his chest.

I love you.

Work Text:

The first time one of them said it, Hiori was hugging (so, bothering) Nanase while he cooked breakfast for the three of them. Still sleepy and not yet real enough to think coherently, he didn't notice Isagi quietly drinking his tea while leaning on the table until he spoke up, voice so soft and full of happiness that it made Hiori's heart flutter in his chest.

I love you.

It made both him and Nanase turn so suddenly that Isagi laughed in his mug.

His eyes. His eyes shined.

The deep blue of his eyes was glossy with warmth, a gaze so loving Hiori couldn't believe he was looking at them, at him, with such eyes. His relaxed pose, his loose shirt falling over his collarbones, his insanely cute bed hair still messing up his head, Isagi Yoichi had never looked more beautiful than at that moment.

Hiori's heart couldn't stop shaking. He felt tears gather in his eyes and he didn't know exactly why his chest felt as light as it did, but he buried his head in the back of Nanase's neck and mumbled something that made him snicker and Isagi smile even more.

"Look who ya got embarrassed," Nanase teased as he stirred eggs in pan, "this guy…"

"Reason more," Isagi placed down his mug and walked up to them, laying a hand on Hiori's back and smiling so kind, "what was that, love?"

"Say it again," Hiori whispered, he looked over his shoulder to check if he had been imagining it all. He was still looking at him. He was still real. "Can ya…?"

It made Isagi hum, his smile soften, as he walked to him and gently laid his hand on his back. "I love you."

"Mhm," his face was burning with joy, he was so beautiful, he was him, he was… "again."

Isagi grinned, he stood on his tiptoes to kiss him, Hiori reached for him as soon as he got closer. "I love you."

"Again," Hiori whispered on his lips, eyes closed and heartbeat echoing in his whole body.

"I love you," he whispered back, kissing him so calmly he felt on cloud nine, "I love you, Yo."

"I love yo too, Yoichi," Hiori held his face with a hand while his other arm stayed wrapped around Nanase. He knew he was smiling too. He knew he…

"Nijiro…" Isagi whispered, still kissing Hiori, "you done ignoring us?"

"Y'all like runny eggs," he complained in a gentle laugh, he turned off the stove and placed the pan to the side before leaning his whole body against Hiori, head that went to uncomfortably lean on his shoulder. Hiori knew he didn't mind.

It made Isagi snicker, place one last kiss on Hiori's lips before going to kiss Nanase. Hiori felt his heart dance with love in his chest, he closed his eyes and whispered again that sentence that made him all fuzzy inside for a reason he had grown to understand and adore.

"Cute," Nanase smiled, he looked at him for a moment, and Hiori found the same love in his eyes too. He couldn't have been happier.

"Cute enough to get a kiss?" he tried.

If made him grin and stamp the most sudden kiss he had ever given him on his cheek, it made Hiori laugh and it made Isagi sigh, amused, even more in love, as Hiori whispered that same sentence against his lips, while he smiled with him and he existed with them a day more.

A day more.

I love you.

He was glad he got to hear that sentence so… relieving, hopeful. I love you, I promise, I'll stay. It confirmed something he knew already, something that was…

All he could have ever asked for in life.

It felt natural, hearing it in a morning like that one. A morning like all the others before, the best start a day could have ever had.

I love you. I love you. He said it again and again while the eggs grew cold and no one cared at all. He said it now, he said it because it was true, because he had the hope to say it, because he had the courage to do so, because he loved them, and they loved him too.

The right moment to say it. The perfect moment to be with them, to stay in the reality of the warm apartment with their lips on him and those words on his.

I love you.

He would have told them again and again until he had no breath left to live.
