As Beast Boy and Raven began making plans to live together, Garfield couldn't help but feel a sense of dread.
Raven knew that he had stomach problems in the sense that she knew he had frequent abdominal pains, but she didn't really know what he dealt with or how much it affected him on a day-to-day basis. No one did, apart from the doctors he had to see to get his diagnosis, which he also kept under wraps.
It was embarrassing. What would Raven think if she found out he had Irritable Bowel Syndrome? How disgusted would she be if she knew about the urgency and the constant diarrhea and how long he had to sit on the toilet cause, no matter how much he expelled, there always seemed to be more.
It was a gross issue to deal with, and he was sure Raven would be disgusted if she knew, reflecting back with horror on all the times she'd touched him.
But, if they were gonna live together, he couldn't hide it forever. Besides, she deserved a warning before she made that kind of commitment. So, one evening, he sat her down and nervously confessed the truth about his stomach problems.
To his surprise, she didn't seem to be bothered by it, assuring him that it was okay and didn't change anything. Even after he admitted there was an instance in which he didn't make it to the toilet in time, she saw him no differently.
It was an illness, not some failing on his part, and she vowed to support him in whatever ways she could.
How did he get so lucky?
