4 years, 4 years since they found her in that alleyway, and 4 years since their world ended. Zoey had been the one to find her after Rumi hadn't come home after she had told them she was going to visit Celine, and she wasn't answering her phone. They had first called Celine, but she wasn't picking up either, so they went looking for Rumi. Zoey nearly screamed when she saw Rumi's body lying on the floor of the alleyway.
Mira felt like she couldn't breathe when she saw the sight. She didn't want to believe it, neither of them wanted to believe it. There was no way this was Rumi, the same Rumi who just earlier that day had been laughing with them, talking about their future and what it holds. This had to be some sick prank, right?, Rumi is just pranking them, there is no way that this is real, that's she dead. Mira reached for her phone, calling 112.
When the police arrived with an ambulance, they knew it was already too late, she was already gone, but they didn't want to believe it, as Rumi was taken away, and the police stayed to question them.
When they had returned to their house that night, it was silent, a kind of silence that they were not used to, and how badly they wished it was a nightmare, a sick nightmare, and that they would wake up with Rumi in their arms. The days that followed were a mess, as they needed to arrange her funeral, which Zoey and Mira somehow managed to power through, but barely. The day of her funeral was so much harder, as it was the confirmation that Rumi was really dead, that this wasn't some sick nightmare they could wake up from.

In the present time, they sat in front of Rumi's grave, Mira and Zoey spoke about their day, and how they wished she was here with them. Visiting Rumi's grave was hard some days, especially when they would visit her on her birthday. The only thing that brought them a bit of peace of mind was that at least Rumi had Miyeong up there with her, Rumi finally got to meet her mother, but at the cost of being taken from earth too soon.

2 years have passed, and now Zoey and Mira were engaged. It felt wrong at first, it felt wrong without Rumi here with them. Yet they still brought another ring, actually two, one for them to keep and the other to place on Rumi's grave, along with the flowers they brought for her. They hoped she liked the ring, even if she will never get the chance to wear it.
