Work Text:
Divorce was the last option Cooper had imagined.
He nibbled at his lower lip. Nursing on the remnants of his whiskey.
He noticed the few stragglers lingering at the bar.
Some older men who spoke loudly and some others who spoke silently about the tensions with the war.
He pressed his dried lips the cold glass and his sullen eyes drifted towards a man who silently walked in through the door.
He gave the fresh-out-of-war look. Handsome, tired....lonely.
Cooper was just as lonely.
The washed up superstar stood slowly and slid next to the Soldier.
"Drink?"
The Soldier grazed his eyes over the Star as he sat up straight in his chair and waved the bar tender over.
Cooper gave a grin. Resting his chin on the palm of his hand.
"Have one with me? I can see we're both down on our luck. Lonely as hell and tired of the shit going down."
Cooper drank the shot in one gulp and looked the Soldier in the eyes again.
The Moviestar leaned into the others ear and gave a low hum.
"Care to join me elsewhere, Sugar? I wouldn't mind the company."
Cooper ran his hand up The Soldiers chest. Slightly playing with the medals that decorated the other mans lapels.
The soldier looked him down silently and took Cooper's hand in his. He paid the tab and both the men slunk into the night
The Movie star gripped the soldiers arm closely. The heat making Cooper press his cold cheek to the others shoulder.
Divorce was the last option Cooper wanted but maybe it was for the best.......
