Chapter Text
Mr. Tenna and Spamton; an inseparable pair.
The world’s favorite television couple, married after three years of what began as a business partnership, and becoming perhaps the happiest fellows in the Dark World.
Whether it be rehearsing, having a smoke break, or visiting the city; neither were spotted without the other.
And that was simply how it was.
Mr. Tenna wouldn’t have it any other way.
Which is why he kept asking himself: What went wrong??
He couldn’t understand if he’d said something to upset Spamton, or if he’d done anything - anything at all! - To give reason for Spamton to just… Disappear.
Sure, they had their fights here and there, but what couple didn’t?
Shrunken down to the size of a cell phone rather than a TV, Tenna locked himself away in his dressing room the day it became public that his own husband was missing.
He couldn’t dare listen to what the viewers might say.
As it was in an audience’s nature to be skeptical, to conjure up theories and further questions. And In no time the Dark World shared their speculation.
Some believed Spamton was kidnapped, others thought he might have glitched out of existence. Maybe the worst rumor of all was that Spamton had just— walked out on Tenna.
Despite it all, he still had a show to put on, though it was abundantly clear things were not the same.
When the credits would roll, Tenna spent no time talking with friends, or worrying about ratings. All he could worry about was his dear Spamton.
Nobody knew where he’d gone, a mystery remaining unresolved for years to come.
No longer any “Mr. Tenna and Spamton” but simply, just Mr. Tenna.
In due time, Tenna tried forgetting Spamton, difficult as it was to do so, coming to realize just about everything reminded him of the little Ad.
He’d gone as far as to paint over the stars his husband liked to paint on the walls, and covering up old posters with new ones, all to no avail.
Even though an unforgiving sense of loneliness nestled deep in his soul, finding there was no other Darkner in the world who could fulfill the love and happiness that Spamton offered Tenna; He could, at the very least, act like Spamton’s absence no longer meant anything to him.
And for a while, this did work, creating a new normal, where Mr. Tenna was the only star of the show.
That was, until, a new rumor had made its way to The TV World, all the way from Cyber City.
“Mr. (Ant) Tenna’s old co-star spotted in the Cyber City wastelands.”
The very news Tenna was broadcasting wrote.
When he first heard this, Tenna laughed, almost in disbelief, for there was no way his dear Spamton had low enough standards to live in the wastelands!
“Who came up with such a stupid joke?”
He said to his friend Mike, while adjusting his red suit and leaving his dressing room for the next broadcast.
Still, Tenna found it difficult to brush off what he’d heard, anxious whether this rumor could be somewhat truthful.
If Spamton really was still out there, —He had to know. He had to see it for himself.
