“—Lex, the water is so cold!”
Oscar surfaces from the chilly seawater with a breathless laugh and a flush all over his body, and Alex is so smitten.
The Australian boy is illuminated by the moonlight twinkling across the waves, glowing softly across his toned chest and dancing across the swoops of hair that stick to his face. Alex can't help but smile at how gorgeous his boyfriend looks. He's definitely bulked up over the past year, but there's still something soft and gentle about the curve of Oscar’s waist, the slope of his shoulders, and the lines of his neck.
Of course, the little bunny teeth that grace his adorably soft smile are points for how lovely Oscar looks.
Alex just loves his boyfriend.
He smiles as Oscar swims closer to the pier’s deck, and the way that Oscar looks up at him makes Alex’s heart skip a beat. Deep brown eyes, glittering with moonlight and affection and some form of fond exasperation, gaze up at Alex, and god, he's so lucky that he has Oscar looking at him like that. Another laugh bubbles itself out of the Australian, bright and twinkling, and Alex can't help but laugh along, his heart bursting at the seams with a love that feels like the sun.
“Thanks for testing it out, Oscie, you're the best.”
He says, as he reaches down to grab Oscar’s hand to pull him up; he'd love for nothing but to feel Oscar’s heartbeat next to his, to kiss the Australian senseless in the moonlight and whisper how much he loves him, perhaps in the dip where Oscar’s shoulder meets his neck—
“Your turn!”
Alex can do nothing but laugh in shock as Oscar pulls him into the water, and the chilly sea surrounds his tanned body. Alex thanks whatever gods are up there that he’s quick to acclimate, but he still feels the chill; it's almost refreshing, like the icy drinks they both had in the morning before, and it gives him a burst of energy that allows him to surface up just as quickly as Oscar’s pulled him in, and—
Wow.
Oscar’s dark brown eyes are filled with desire, and Alex feels as if his breath’s been punched out of his lungs at how Oscar gazes at him.
“God, Lex, you're so beautiful.”
Alex giggles softly, bowled over by the sheer emotion in his words, and he can feel the blush coming on from deep within his cheeks. There's something magical about how Oscar says it, delicate and caring and just… filled with awe, like…
Like he’s something Oscar’s been blessed with.
Alex does the only thing he can do in this moment, aside from absolutely kiss the living daylights out of his boyfriend, of course; he grins maniacally and splashes Oscar with seawater, causing the Australian to sputter and laugh at the sudden “attack” that the Thai boy gives him.
“And that's the thanks I get for calling you beautiful?!”
Alex just laughs in response, before he's splashed back with more water, and it becomes an all out water fight, where the two boys swim around and splash water into each others’ faces; their laughter rings out through the salty breeze, tinkling like bells in the night, and when Alex sees Oscar shake the seawater from his head to look at him with an adoration in his eyes, Alex thinks he can live in this moment forever.
They end up in each others’ arms soon enough, slightly tired but buzzing with a tad bit of adrenaline, and Alex breathes out a shuddering sigh as he feels Oscar’s body around his own, and he takes a moment to just drink up how gorgeous his boyfriend is. He could say so much, wax poetic about how pretty Oscar’s eyes look in the moonlight, how every mole on his body looks like a star that landed gently onto his skin, or how the blush that graces every inch of Oscar's torso makes him look like a ripe chompoo like what Alex can find back home, but he can just settle on one thing to say as he brings his face closer to Oscar’s, their noses touching.
“Hi.”
Oscar giggles, breathless and warm.
“Hi yourself.”
They end up swimming lazily for a while, in each other’s arms like the otters they saw at the zoo, looking up at the stars and the full moon, and soon enough they swim back to the nearby shoreline, watching as the moon’s reflection sways gently across the sea. Oscar lays Alex onto the soft sand, and Alex happily obliges. The sand shifts gently beneath him, and the waves lap up at his feet and splash over his hips, and his beautiful boyfriend is on top of him. Oscar’s legs slot neatly in between his own, warm and stable and soft, and there's an expression on his face that makes Alex want to kiss him senseless like he’s meant to do since earlier in the day.
So he does.
And as Alex draws his sweet, salty, moon kissed boyfriend in for a kiss, Oscar’s soft lips on his, body to body, their two heartbeats syncing together, he feels right at home.
