Summary
Helping Volt and Eddie with the reset is the most useful you’ve felt since you’ve gotten the dateviators. It’s a hard feeling to come by—usefulness—when you’re stuck at home with no job but the company of many, many objects whom you’ve come to liken as friends, or even as lovers in Volt and Eddie’s case.
There was a certain rush that came with finding out more about the two of them, becoming part of their lives and their routine, doing maintenance, saving them with the reset. Every fix boosts your self-confidence. It helps you feel like you’re needed rather than just…inserting yourself into other people’s (other object’s) problems.
It’s a concern that eats away at you. Your nerves are frayed, like Eddie’s wire was. You know you should talk to him, and to Volt too. You know they’d want to help you, the same way you helped them, but… they already do so much for you: running the electricity, treating you like a VIP member at their club, loving you.
How could you possibly ask for more?
