Chapter Text
Soft paws on wet stone,
summer rain blurs into mist -
a shadow drifts, gone.
***
Warm dusk, the rain falls,
a cat licks the last sunlight
from its fading fur.
On the rooftop’s edge,
summer showers blur the street -
paws leave no traces.
Window half-open,
the night breathes a damp perfume;
the cat does not stir.
Cicadas grow faint,
the garden swells with silence,
raindrops take their place.
At dawn’s quiet fade,
a cat curls into the mist -
summer slips away.
***
inspired by forgotten green tea leaves in the teapot
Old tea leaves resting,
at the bottom, turning pale -
I dissolve with them.
