Chapter Text
In the fancy dining room of the Wayne manor that Jon had sat at multiple times whenever he'd stay overnight with Damian, he had never felt so much pressure in his life.
His parents where on the far end of the table, far away from the boys reach as they chatted with a constipated looking Bruce. But that wasn't what's making him sweat bullets right now.
No, it was Jason and Damian who were making him, Jason sat Infront of him, fork dragging on the plate whenever he took a bite of his stake. And Damian who was not stopping eyes contact as he too precisely sliced and ate his braised portobello Steaks.
Never mind Angela who was busy stuffing her face with food in Jason's lap because he didn't want to put her down.
"Where's Duke though, I don't think I've seen him at all" Clark chuckled as he continued talking to Bruce. The question made the latter querk an eyebrow at Dick as he answered "Duke went to visit his parents", "he also told me he's staying the night at a friend's place" Dick added with a cheeky giggle that made Bruce sigh and Jason look up from Jon while still chewing on his food.
"So light stick's got game?" Jason teased with an amused huff as Dick chuckeled "don't be green jaybird" a statement that made Jason roll his eyes and pretend to be busy wiping Angelica's mouth with a napkin "you're all messy" he murmured in low grumble that was more found that annoyed as Angelica went right back to eating and making a new mess.
"She needs manners" Damian pointed with a side eye from besides him, "and you clearly have those" Jason grunted in response making the younger boy snap a glare at him.
Lois, however, was a professional. She had noticed the was Jon was fidgeting and how the two Wayne boys were practically directing him under a microscope. She sat her fork down with a gentle clink that broke down the heavy silence.
"Jon's been working on a new project" she said brightly, leaning forward in her chair, "a new project?" Dick questioned with interest making the boy snap his head up "uh, yeah! I'm trying to map out the constellation on my own. Dad says it's a good way to practice…uh…you know." He trailed off, giving a subtle glance at Clark who was smiling at him warmly.
That was when Angelica's mind latched onto a new. Her head snapped up, gravy all over her mouth, her cheeks puffed up with the mashed potatoes and meat she was eating, making her look like a hamster as she stared Jon down again.
"Angie, sweetheart" Dick chuckeled, turning her head to look at him as he wiped her face again, making Jason grumble another found "what a mess" under his breath.
With a clean face now she turned to stare Jon down, he was talking with Tim now who had women up somewhere along the line of Alfred taking back the dishes and moving on to desert that had something with caffeine.
Angelica didn't care that much, just stared down Jon needing with Tim as she spoke "we could do wedding in space"
"Uh..what" Jon mumbeled, feeling utterly lost again. "We should marry in space…is the moon cold?" She mumbeled tilting her head to the side like a chipmunk "Angie, n-" Jason tried only to be cut off with the most dramatic sigh and swoon from Angelica "love is free" she murmured as she leant back on his chest making Steph lose it and wheeze as Dick chuckled "you mean love is in the air?" He hummed making angelica nod in agreement.
Damian, the perfect image of stoicism and boiling quietly, finally snapped. He slammed his fork down on the plate with a sharp clink.
"No, absolutely not" he declared, voice low and full of simmering annoyance. He glared at Angelica. "You will not marry Kent"
Angelica however, still in her love-struck haze just stared at him and blinked with a pouty whine that came faster than the flash "why not?" She asked, her voice a tiny innocent protest.
Damian stuttered at his words, something unusual for the youngest Wayne who's always so sure and proud of whatever little insults that come out of his mouth. Eyes wide as he stared at his little sister before they narrowed in anguish, "because you're four!"
Damian's words to Angelica however, were like pouring water onto a rever and hoping for a mirecal, nothings is gonna happen whatsoever. Angelica simply shrugged and looked over at Jon again, still waiting for an answe. Jason was sure his second death and Dick's first is gonna happen because of their hearts stopping from an absurd amount of laughter, while Bruce, Clark and Lois sat still staring at the void because in their days-
Bruce was the one to finally break the silence by clearing his throat "Angel, hon-" but angelica cut him off with a whine as she played her most dangerous card, squirming and attempting to sob.
This made Jason go still from shock before he was on trying to calm her, rocking her gently and shushing her, even opting to tickle her big that only made her fuss more.
Jon was debating his life choices of ever existing. Especially since Damian was glaring at him with a pointed gaze.
"Ugh- uhm maybe we could play house..?" The boy mumbeled helplessly. As simple as his words went, they made Angelica's fussing stop and nod with a teary expression. "mh" she hummed, looking back at Jason who only sighed in return and put her on the ground, she padded towards Jon asand held his hand dragging him along with her towards her room, Damian following suit as everyone else got away from the table to go back into the more comfortable couches.
Angelica's room looked like both what Jon expected but also not, it was a large room highlighted by the realistic toy kitchen set on one corner of by the wall, or the bedsheets the looked a fluffed strawberry plushie. But what really caught his attention was the medium sized poster of The Flash, with his charming smile and a two fingered salute in a running position.
"You're a fun of The Flash?" Jon asked Angelica who was padding around in the room and gathering some plushies and dolls near his feet, Damian stood rigidly by the bed. "Hm? Yes! He's cool!" she blabbered, but immediately got distracted by getting the last plushie -a woman on a mission - .
"Okay" she mumbeled as she stood Infront of him, the plushies between him before she sat down and stared up at him expectantly "you're the dad" she clarified as she pulled Jon by his arm to sit down and handles him a monkey plushie in his lap "here, out baby" she mumbeled solmenly as she looked up at Jon, the boy was as flushed as a tomato again and functioning like an old LG touch screen phone.
Meanwhile, the elders finally found some time alone to talk. Steph, Dick and Jason had went out on patrole after they all pranked Tim and drugged his drink with some sleeping pills after he refused to go back to sleep. Leaving Bruce Clark and Lois to talk privately in the living room, they eventually went up to Bruce's study but because it was near Angelica's room -where the kids were supposedly playing at- no sound was geared except some quiet shuffling.
Bruce entered the room quietly, a little panic and paranoia filling and clogging his throat as he buried to check for his kids. Damian wasn't in the room, toys were scattered around, but angelica was deep asleep in her bed and Jon was sitting beside her flipping through an advanced math book for children.
Bruce let out an exhail he didn't know he was holding as he fully stepped in, and Jon answered his question before he even asked it "Damian went on patrole" he whispered as to not wake up the sleeping Angelica and Bruce nodded quietly as he swept his gaze on his daughter's sleeping form before it landed on Jon again.
It wasn't much later that Kents departed and Bruce finally went out to join his kids on patrole, from what Damian told him it appairs that Angelica and Jon played so much that the moment they plopped on the bed she was out cold.
Bruce still regrets having Clark know about Angelica, he hopes his best friend will keep her a secret for now.
