James sucks in a sharp breath. He sounds crushed, as if Regulus fucking hurt him, “There is no us.”
Regulus shakes his head again, “But there is. There is.”
James is closer, crowding into him, fingers moving to his nape, curling into his hair, tugging at it, their noses bump into each other, “How?”
Regulus sobs; it comes from deep within him, “Here. Right now. Here, James.”
James mumbles, low and strangled, “What have you done to me?”
Regulus hits his chest, hand curling around the wet dress shirt, “What have you done to me? To me, James?”Regulus is always in control. He has a plan and murder on his mind. He will kill his parents and claim his rightful inheritance. He will do it before the civil war breaks out. Nothing is going to change that. Not even that late August night in Rio at 3am with James Potter.
But.
James Potter is like the sun. He burns so bright that it is impossible for anyone to not fall in love with him. Now Regulus wants something more than he wants freedom, more than he wants his inheritance, more than he wants to run from Riddle-.
