“Sir, are you sure about using the Raptors to hunt the Indominous?”
The soldier looked back at the padlock nervously.
“Of course. Grady might have tried hiding the progress they’ve made, but I know they’ll make the perfect weapons.”
“Grady won’t like this.”
Hoskins smirked.
“I have a plan to deal with that thorn in my side.”
The other man gave him a confused look.
“Sir?”
“When we hunt down the Indominous, Grady is going to have a little accident and end up being eaten by the Indominous.”
“What about Barry?”
“He’ll either join us or Grady in hell.”
The man nodded.
“I’ll tell the other teams.”
“Grady is tricky. If he escapes the Indominous, we kill him and dump his body somewhere.”
The man nodded, ordering his teams to make sure Grady is killed. Hoskins looked at the raptors and smirked, knowing they were just stupid animals who had no idea that he planned to kill their precious trainer.
What he didn’t realize was that the raptors were a lot smarter than anyone realized, besides Owen and maybe Barry. By the time they were two, they understood English and some French not just commands, but everything the humans around them were saying.
“What are we going to do?”
Delta asked nervously.
“We protect our pack.”
Blue stared at the fat human, already imagining how she was going to kill him.
“How? The humans outnumber us.”
Echo scanned the area, taking note of all the humans.
“We need to use the Indominous as a distraction to break up the humans and rescue mom and dad.”
“Do you really think they’ll kill them?”
Charlie asked shyly, and they all glanced at her.
“They’re all humans. Why would they try to kill each other?”
“That fat human has always hated Mom. I’m not surprised he's trying to kill him.”
Blue hissed, thinking about the fat man's pathetic attempts to woo their mom, especially when he was taken.
“Is this because Mom rejected him and refused to mate with him?”
Delta asked, thinking the same thing.
“Maybe…”
“I hate the way he looks at mom.”
Charlie suddered.
“I’m glad he rejected him, and I can’t wait to kill him.”
Echo grinned, and they all agreed.
“We can give his severed head to Mom as a gift.”
“That’s a great idea. He’ll love it.”
Delta's tail wagged as she thought about how happy their mom would be to know that the fat human was dead and couldn’t bother them anymore.
“No one hurts our pack and gets away with it.”
Echo sneered, growling when a human got too close.
“We’ll have to be smart. Much smarter than the humans.”
Blue thought for a moment.
“We’ll make the humans believe the Indominous turned us against them.”
“But that will hurt Mom. He’ll feel so betrayed.”
Charlie shook her head, or at least tried to with her face being held in place.
“I know, and we’ll make it up to him later.”
Blue promised reassuring her sisters.
“Mom always forgives us.”
Echo added, and Delta sighed.
“I miss Mom. I wish he were here right now.”
“Me too.”
They all looked at each other sadly, wishing they could feel his comforting touch and reassurance that they were going to be okay.
Barry noticed them talking to each other and came over to check on them. Although it wasn’t the same, they still eagerly accepted whatever reassurance he could give them.
“Don’t worry, everything will be okay… I just wish I knew where Owen was.”
He added the last part, looking into the distance.
“Please be alive, Owen.”
All of them screeched and pounded on the cage, trying to free themselves from the straps holding them in place.
“What happened to mom?”
“Is that why he’s missing?”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that. Owen is okay. He's your leader for a reason.”
Barry put a comforting hand on each of the girls to calm them. Sadly, it didn’t last because Hoskins walked over with a smug smirk on his face. They snarled and thrashed in their cages, desperately wanting to free themselves and eat him. He came over to Delta, who glared, showing off her fangs. The stupid human didn’t look scared and seemed amused by her behavior. He was only acting like that because they were locked up, but when they were free, he’d be terrified.
“I hope he screams when I kill him.”
He snapped his fingers in front of her and looked at the camera that had been placed on their heads. Dad could tell Delta wasn’t happy and stepped in to pull Hoskins away.
They could tell their dad was nervous, and even though he tried to hide it, he was worried about Mom. Luckily, they picked up his scent, causing all of them to shriek with joy. Barry noticed and looked over as a car approached.
Mom stepped out looking pissed, and all of them cheered, relieved he was okay. They watched as he came over and punched Hoskins in the face. They all shouted with glee, knowing how much Hoskins deserved it and more.
“Way to go, Mom!”
“And that's why he's in charge.”
“I just wish he’d be more careful. What if the humans try to kill him now?”
“You’re right. I can see a few holding guns nearby.”
They shrieked in warning, alerting both their parents to danger. Both their heads snapped to look at them, and they could tell Mom understood.
“I’ll be back.”
Barry went to see Mom and deal with the human. They always loved it when they stood together as a united front, except maybe when it was used against them.
They growled, watching as the fat human got into their mom's space. He didn’t look worried and calmly watched him, maybe because he had no idea the danger he was in.
Hoskins turned away from their mom, ordering other humans around. They noticed him nod to a few who glanced at Owen. They could tell the humans were planning on killing him.
Their mom came over, and they were quick to tell him what they overheard. They knew he didn’t fully understand their language, but he understood enough.
“Owen, this is crazy. We can’t send the girls to deal with this thing. Too many things could go wrong.”
Mom pulled Dad to the side somewhere they could talk without being overheard.
“Things have already gone wrong. Hoskins and the others plan to kill us.”
“What?”
Barry looked at him in shock.
“How do you know?”
“Our girls told me. You know as well as I do how smart they are. They must have overheard Hoskins talking about it.”
He scanned the area, making sure no one overheard them.
“What do we do?”
“Trust our girls, they already have a plan.”
Barry gave him a conflicted look before eventually nodding.
“Alright, I trust you.”
