Wind Archer sat next to Fire Spirit and immediately grabbed his hand. "Stop that."
Fire Spirit pouted, but complied. He had gotten his cast off... and was now picking at the dry skin and scabs. "But its itchy!" He complained.
"Thats because its healing," Wind Archer said, gently moving Fire Spirit's hand away, "And I bought you that exfoliating stuff, remember? It'll help with the dryness..."
Fire Spirit groaned and mumbled something Wind Archer couldn't hear, but was almost definitely a complaint about being stopped. After a few seconds he brightened up. "Soo, wanna go on a walk later? Or practice? Or..." he struggled to come up with a third choice.
With a smile, Wind Archer shook his head. "Take it easy. You can't even walk yet," he said.
Fire Spirit groaned again. His impatience only grew every day of his injury, and despite the fact that he had significantly more mobility than he did when it first happened, it still wasn't fun to spend most of the day lazing around... which, he felt, was a bit ironic. "Yeah, but I can still... do things! Just watch!"
He grabbed his crutches and stood, rather awkwardly, wincing on the way up. It didn't hurt, but after having his ankle wrapped and immobilized for so long, every movement just felt... odd. With Wind Archer watching with an eyebrow raised, he hopped over to the kitchen, disappeared behind the wall for a bit, and after a bit of rattling and cursing, came back with a bottled soda shoved haphazardly into his pocket.
Despite being a rather lackluster feat, Wind Archer gave a smile and nod of acknowledgement. "I see. You are improving, but..." he helped move the crutches to sit against the wall while Fire Spirit sat, "Youre clearly uncomfortable and in pain."
True to his word, Fire Spirit was somewhat out of breath, his good leg was shaking, and his palms were red. "Well... if I practice with the crutches more--" he panted.
Wind Archer just sighed and gave Fire Spirit a small kiss on the head. "I know that you're bored, and I get it. But if you force yourself to do things before you're ready, you'll hinder your healing," he said. Fire Spirit gulped down his drink, awkwardly avoiding eye contact while Wind Archer spoke. "Its just four more weeks, then you start physical therapy."
Fire Spirit realized he needed air and put his drink down. "I guess. And at least I have you!" He gave a stupid smirk and pressed against Wind Archer, as if he was trying to become one with the smaller man.
Wind Archer laughed. Admittedly, he had been spoiling Fire Spirit during this time. It was hard not to. "Yes, you have me..."
Fire Spirit, once he was sure his vulnerability was hidden, turned that stupid, flirty smirk into a softer smile. He really didn't know where he would be without Wind Archer... probably messing up his chances of a smooth recovery. He didn't know what he did to be so lucky as to get the best boyfriend in all of Earthbread, but he wouldn't complain.
Wind Archer kissed his head once more, silently thinking the same.
