Tempest

Summary:

A poem about the impatience that accompanies building slowly towards romance.

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

Unknowingly, you unsettle me
casting coal-black clouds over my inner sea
I want us to be
You want to see
perhaps, what evils lurk in me
So you stir the waters of my inner sea
until I could sell the excitement I bottle up
to you, for free
but I don’t, because I see
the patience you cultivate in me
straining impurities from my love
until my anxious tempest quietens
and I no longer rage
From the slow page-flip of romance
Finally knowing
It is for the best.
