The wet drops of rain fell from the ceiling and onto her hair as she roamed around the restaurant. No customers, she walked through to the kitchen of the desolate place with an ominous feeling of déjà vu. The kitchen was empty, a few potato sacks piled up were the only thing left and strangely they remained intact. The scratching of a rat caught her eyes to find a monster. It was crouched, its nails pointy and unnatural looking gripped the rodent as it drained its life. Teeth sharp as knifes plunged into the gross furr of the animal, as deep into its body as it could.
She recoiled.
The beast heard her gasp as she held her breath in a desperate attempt to take steps backwards when she saw the thing turn around slowly unsinking its teeth from the rat, delivering a large amount of blood to pour onto the littered ground and the creaky rotting wooden floorboards. She winced, meeting the red eyes of the monster, now turned to God's mercy as she prayed and the monster struck. In a lightning flash from the angry navy sky pouring after a long drought, the beast seemed to have flown into her, smacking her so hard onto the wall, she heard a hard thud followed by the shaking unused furniture as dust flew in her field of vision when she finally heard herself scream.
An old lightbulb from the breaking ceiling fell and shattered in the middle of the room, nearby another rat ran through a puddle of rain before her eyes closed. But she did not die, nor did she get eaten by the monster. His grip was so tight and even if she was very strong his strength was surhuman. With her eyes shut closed she continued her prayer with altered breaths.
"Where is he?" The monster spoke, his voice less menacing than she had imagined, but still the words were said in a low rumble of rasp from the back of one's throat. She dared not moved an inch and swallowed hard.
"Stop shaking and open your eyes child, I will hurt you only once you give me what I want. But before I want you to hear my name. I am Louis De Pointe Dulac."
