“Fine, Draco, I'll get on with solving your love life, you ungrateful cow.” She sighs, picking up the book and flashing the cover, which does not help with figuring out the contents as it's blank. “This lovely little volume has been the pride of the family collection for centuries, and it just so happens to contain a spell which helps you find your soulmate.”
Draco sits up, his whole focus now pinned on the book. He’s read stories about soulmates, apparent historical articles that had seemed more fictional than real. As a child, he was obsessed with the idea of finding his soulmate, but his parents quickly disabused him of the notion and pushed the importance of a marriage that would serve the family. He’s loath to believe this is anything but a fallacy.
“That’s a load of bullshit, Pansy, don’t you think everyone would be using that spell if it existed?” Draco sneers, breathing heavily.
“Ah, but did you ever wonder why they burned the Library of Alexandria?” Pansy asks, raising a perfectly tattooed eyebrow.
