Work Text:

They had always been told he was jealous. And the truth is, Alfonse was.

When Zacharias and he were young, he noticed a lot of girls around him, as he was exotic in the capital. He felt insecure and frustrated at the thought that one day he would run away with one of those girls. The man with the silver hair and he had talked about it a lot, but he still felt the same way.

When they got back together after years apart, he sometimes had that problem again. But now Vicky was involved too.

But he didn't feel jealous of either of them.

He liked watching Vicky sit on Zacharias's lap to talk with him, how they played strategy games or planned them, or at night, when he brushed her hair and got it ready for her to sleep. The smile the redhead gave Zacharias was very beautiful, and he could see how the silver-haired man was at her feet, just like him.

Since the Prince of Embla returned to the Order of Heroes, they had established a pattern. They would go on dates, either as a trio or with each other. Today, Zacharias had taken Vicky to an insect fair in a nearby town. He had a lot of work to do, both with the Order and helping his mother, so he hadn't been able to go.

Even after such a hard day, the man with blue hair decided to use the cafeteria to make dinner. The room had changed over the years. First, it only had his things in it. Then, it gradually became a room for both of them. His mother decided to move him to another room, as was customary for a man of his rank. This room had a greenhouse for Vicky, a small corner that he had turned into a library, and a small basement where Zacharias did his experiments. He left the dinner covered so that it wouldn't get cold too quickly.

He had just taken a shower when he heard the door open. Likewise, he saw Vicky arrive with something in her hands, and she ran to him to give him a kiss. She then went off towards her greenhouse. Alfonse blinked, then looked at Zacharias. The man with the silver hair waved hello as he took off his shoes.

“What did you find?” asked the Prince of Askr, and he moved to kiss him on the lips.

“She says it's a rhinoceros beetle. I had to bargain hard to get it,” Zacharias replied, smoothing her wet hair a bit. “It's not in good condition. That's why she ran off to give him something.”

“Oh,” the man with blue hair moved, standing in the doorway of the greenhouse. “Do you need me to get him something to eat, Vicky?”

“I have some here,” he replied, noticing her breaking off twigs that held nectar. The two men reached her. “It was making him tired. He was about to die.”

The man with the silver hair stroked her shoulders. “At least he's in good hands now.” The redhead nodded and smiled slightly.

The man with blue hair smiled when he saw them standing so close together. “I made you dinner. We'll have dinner when you've had your shower.”

“Have you had your dinner yet?” Zacharias asked, picking up his dinner.

“I've been helping my mother with the northern dam project for some time. She says she always has trouble working out how much money it could be. I think it's an excuse to spend time with me.” The prince stirred.

“Well, I think she wants to show you too,” the Prince of Embla said. “OK, I'm going to have a shower.”

“Your herbalist was here. You've already got your shampoo.”

“Hallelujah,” he said, leaving.

Alfonse smiled a little when he saw the redhead coming towards him. “Aren't you going with him?”

“No, I actually want to rest my feet for a bit before then.” The redhead stirred. “By the way, there's a book fair in two weeks. Do you think we can go?”

“The three of us?”

“Just the two of us,” Vicky said, smiling. “We haven't had a date for a while.”

Alfonse stirred to give her a kiss. “I'd love to. Let's go to the sofa.”

The redhead nodded as the two sat down, and she began to explain the date.

And as he thought, he wasn't at all jealous.
