Elle loved technology.
Sure, paper and pens and paint and pencils were top tier, but her ipad gave her flexibility and a way to escape that she didn’t have before with her art.
She threw the charging cord in her bag just in case she needed it, and left the chaos of her parents and all the visiting relatives for her happy place.
No “when will you meet someone?” and “isn’t it time you settled down?”, just the hum of the fan, purr of the store cat, and occasional hiss of the espresso machine.
This bookstore was her happy place.
