Work Text:
It’s noon and Ray slowly came to his own consciousness. Blinking multiple times, taking in the sun hitting his face. The soft snoring from his lover came besides him, when he looked down he spotted Stebbins drooling onto his chest. Ray couldn’t help but cringe, nudging the taller male which did nothing to wake him up.
He looked around, taking in the rest of his surroundings. The way Stebbins clung onto him like one giant koala, his leg and arm over his body as he’s slotted into his arms. Ray turned his head to the left, noticing the empty spot where Pete laid the night before. He knew Pete tends to wake up before the two of them, letting them sleep in as much as they want, however today was a Saturday and the rest of the house was oddly quiet.
Ray tried his best wiggling his way out of Stebbins arms but was met with little to no success. He had an iron hold on him, as if he was his personal teddy bear. “Stebs, Stebs- C’mon, need to get up.” He nudged his boyfriend's head multiple times, getting no result. He knew Stebbins was one deep sleeper and snorer but is always impressed with how much he’s able to get away with when he’s asleep. Ray signed to himself, moving a hand to pinch Stebbins nose shut and after some moments the large boy began to squirm.
Stebbins swatted Ray’s hand off his nose, eyebrows furrowing before he even opened them. It made Ray chuckle to himself a little, especially when Stebbins spoke with his gravely morning voice. “Tryin’ kill me so early, Garraty?” Ray rolled his eyes. “Overdramatic much? Let me go, I wanna get up.” Stebbins only held onto Ray a little tighter before finally, finally letting him out of his impossible grasp. “Where’s Pete?” Stebbins managed, groggily as he situated himself in bed comfortably while Ray sat himself up on the edge.
“What I’m trying to figure out.” Stebbins only hummed, nosing into the pillows more. Ray watched over the blonde boy a little longer before leaning over and kissing the back of his head then getting himself up. He made his way out of their bedroom and into their living room. Their shitty little one story house they had to rejuvenate back to health. Even though the first day of moving in they had to sleep on the floor because they didn’t have a bed, it was already more of a home than what the three of them had had before then.
Ray caught a whiff of blueberries and his smile spread across his face, knowing already where to find Pete. He made his way over to the kitchen, spotting his boyfriend swaying his hips and humming to himself under his breath as he worked at the oven. Pete’s back was to him and Ray allowed himself to watch until he slowly moved behind him, wrapping his arms around him and nosing his face into his shoulder. Not tall enough to rest his chin on it, but both of them loved it.
Pete’s hand instantly found both of Ray’s on his stomach, squeezing them gently before he tilted his head to the side and kissed Ray’s temple. “Mornin’, sweetheart.” Ray thinks he could never get tired of this. Waking up to his favorite boys, being met with such gentle domesticness. “Mornin’, lover.” They stayed that way, not saying much, enjoying the slow morning as Ray looked over the blueberry pancakes Pete was making and the bacon he was cooking alongside.
The love he felt was so strong, Ray felt as if it would pour out of him and begin to flood their tiny home. He closed his eyes, squeezed Pete a little stronger, and let himself accept the love he never thought he’d be met with, nor ever thought he deserved.
