Work Text:
My name is Y/N, and I guess ive always know im different. I never wear makeup like other girls, and i much prefer jeans and sneakers to dresses and skirts. Other girls spend their time talking about boys or magazines, but i read.
Anyways, enough about me. Lets get on with the story.
I opened my front door to find none other than my best friend, F/N. "Hey, Y/N." They said, running a hand through their dishevelled curls. My ocean blue orbs widened, they looked troubled!
"W-what is it, F/N?"
"I have to tell you something." They said, not meeting my beautiful glowing ocean blue orbs. "Im a werewolf."
Oh. My. Gosh! I held a hand to my chest. "Are you serious?"
"Im the alpha of my local wolf pack," they sighed and explained. "And thats not all. This morning, i woke up and felt this pull leading me to you. I..."
"I think you're my mate, Y/N.."
I bit my lip. What did this mean? I couldn't possibly be F/N's mate! They were my best friend, practically my sibling! And id never thought about them romantically because i was shy and awkward, aswell as not like other girls.
I tucked a lock of my messy brown hair behind an ear, remembering another important detail.
"D-dont you have a girlfriend?"
F/N scoffed. "You mean Taylor? She's nothing to me. Why would i want a girly girl who wears makeup and dresses when i could have you, a person who reads."
"That... does make sense," i agreed. "But, im not sure..."
"Look. Why dont we go on a date and see how things go? My second in command, Jackson Wang, is throwing a party tonight. Come with me?" They said.
"Ok," i reluctantly agreed, "but im bringing my book."
And with that, my story truly begins...
