Work Text:
Shotaro was genuinely so happy that RIIZE was so busy and that they were having a world tour. Truly, Shotaro had been having so much fun on tour and loved getting to meet their fans around the world, but he couldn’t help but feel lonely. Sure, he was surrounded by his other members and all of their staff, and he even got to share a room and a bed with Sungchan most nights. Despite this, Shotaro really missed Sungchan, and it felt like they barely talked. While physically always surrounded, there was hardly any time to talk and spend time outside of work.
Arriving back in Korea after yet another long day of travel, Shotaro collapsed onto his bed already on the verge of sleep. “Babe, are you going to shower?” Sungchan asked, following Shotaro into their room.
“Nooooo, I’m going to sleep,” Shotaro whined, burying his head in the pillow.
“At least wash your face. You don’t want to sleep with makeup on,” Sungchan urged
“Fine,” Shotaro grumbled, peeling himself out of the pillow.
“Sohee and I are planning on heading to the convenience store for snacks. Do you want to come?” Sungchan asked.
“Mhm, I’m going to wash my face and then just go to sleep,” Shotaro said, reluctantly dragging himself out of his bed.
“Alright, I’m heading out now. Let me know if you want anything,” Sungchan said.
“I will,” Shotaro nodded, tiredly shuffling out of the bedroom toward the bathroom.
Too tired to go through his whole skin care routine, Shotaro splashed water on his face, giving a quick scrub to take off his makeup. Grabbing his towel, Shotaro quickly toweled his face off. Leaving the bathroom, Shotaro made his way to his room, giving Eunseok a tired grunt as he walked back into his room. Stripping out of his clothes, Shotaro face-planting back into the bed, quickly drifting off.
The following days were similar, with either Sungchan, Shotaro, or both of them, too exhausted to talk or spend time together. Taking a break during another long day of concert practice, Shotaro jogged over to Sungchan, stopping him before they could leave. “Do you want to get dinner together later?” Shotaro asked eagerly.
“I’m sorry, but not today. I’m so tired,” Sungchan responded apologetically.
“What about tomorrow?” Shotaro suggested, still hopeful.
“We have that photo shoot for Mega Coffee all day tomorrow,” Sungchan responded with a frown
“Ahh, you're right,” Shotaro groaned, his mood falling rapidly.
“What about the day after that?” Sungchan suggested.
“We have concert practice all that day, and then we leave for Indonesia early the following day, and then we are touring for the next three weeks,” Shotaro sighed
“Damn, you’re right. We really have no free time,” Sungchan agreed, thinking about how busy they would be for the next several weeks.
“We don’t, and it sucks,” Shotaro pouted, leaning his head against Sungchan’s chest.
“It does,” Sungchan agreed, wrapping his arms around Shotaro.
“I miss you, Sungchan-ah. We are so busy we never get to spend time together, just the two of us,” Shotaro sulked, pushing his head further against Sungchan’s chest.
“I know. We never have any free time these days, but don’t we have a break after we finish the current tour?” Sungchan said.
“Yeah, but it’s not for another 6 weeks,” Shotaro said.
“What if we go on a trip, just the two of us? It doesn’t have to be long, but after we finish the tour, let’s go to Sokcho for a couple of days,” Sungchan suggested.
“That sounds really nice, but I miss you now,” Shotaro whined, looking up at Sungchan.
“I know. We could try to do something together while we are in Indonesia. We have an extra night in Jakarta with no schedule before we fly to Singapore,” Sungchan suggested.
“That sounds nice,” Shotaro said.
“Yeah?” Sungchan asked.
“Yeah,” Shotaro agreed, his mood rebrightening at the prospect of spending time alone with Sungchan where they weren’t sound asleep.
Although it wasn’t for another month and a half, knowing that there was an end in sight and he and Sungchan would get to spend several days with just the two of them, Shotaro felt a little lighter. While the days were still long, it was no longer quite as unbearable. Three days later, RIIZE was pushing their way through the mobs at Incheon Airport, and for what may have been the first time, Shotaro was actually excited to have a seven-hour flight. Both he and Sungchan had actually gone to sleep at a reasonable time the night before and were well rested for the flight, meaning that they could spend all seven hours talking or, more likely, watching trashy dramas together.
Making it through security, Shotaro excitedly bounced over to Sungchan. “What seat are you in?” Shotaro asked, peering over at Sungchan’s shoulder at his ticket.
“4C,” Sungchan responded, showing Shotaro his ticket.
Without missing a beat, Shotaro whirled around, looking for the nearest member. “What seat are you in, Wonbin?” Shotaro questioned, reaching for Wonbin’s ticket.
“4D,” Wonbin replied, holding up his ticket.
“Switch with me,” Shotaro demanded.
“Why?” Wonbin questioned, giving Shotaro the side eye.
“I’m in 5A and I want to sit next to Sungchan,” Shotaro whined.
“Mhm,” Wonbin hummed, giving Shotaro an unimpressed look.
“I’m next to Anton,” Shotaro revealed.
“We can switch,” Wonbin quickly agreed.
“Thank you, Wonbin-ah,” Shotaro cheered.
“Yeah, yeah,” Wonbin waved Shotaro off.
Boarding the plane, Shotaro practically skipped to his seat, shoving his bag under the seat in front of him. Grabbing his passport and phone, Shotaro settled into his airplane seat. “Ready for the flight?” Sungchan asked, settling in the chair next to Shotaro.
“Yep,” Shotaro eagerly responded, practically vibrating as he watched Sungchan settle in for the flight.
“What’s got you so pumped?” Sungchan asked with a laugh.
“We get to spend the next seven hours together without any work,” Shotaro happily explained.
“True, we can start planning our holiday to Sokcho,” Sungchan said.
“Mhm, and we can talk and like just be together, not working,” Shotaro said, reaching out to hold Sungchan’s hand.
