Chapter 1: Kate x Yelena Stakeout

Chapter Text

Rain streaked the dusty windows of the safehouse, rhythmic and constant, a quiet lullaby against the tension in the air.

They were two days into the stakeout. A cartel smuggling black-market weaponized tech out of Madripoor had finally surfaced in Berlin. Yelena and Kate had been sent ahead of the Young Avengers team to observe, not engage. Intel gathering only, Barton had said. Stay out of sight. Keep your heads down.

Kate hated staying still.

She paced the room in socks and leggings, her hair still damp from the shower, frustration curling tight in her shoulders.

“You’re going to burn a hole in the floor,” Yelena said, glancing up from the surveillance monitor. “Sit.”

Kate huffed, then turned—half brat, half obedient girlfriend—and flopped into the chair next to her. “I just hate waiting.”

“I know. But I love watching you try.”

Kate turned toward her, surprised. Yelena didn’t smile, not exactly—but the softness in her voice said more than a grin ever could. She leaned in, brushing her fingers along Kate’s jaw, tracing where a new bruise bloomed faint and yellow-green.

“Did you ice this?”

“I forgot.”

Yelena tutted. “No discipline.”

“You could help me remember.” Kate grinned, teasing, then softer: “Please?”

Yelena closed the laptop.

“Come here,” she said.

Kate stood immediately, the shift in Yelena’s tone igniting something deep and molten in her gut. She stepped forward, between Yelena’s legs, and Yelena’s hands came to rest at her hips—firm, grounding.

“You forget everything else when we’re in the field,” Yelena murmured. “But you never forget how to listen to me.”

Kate’s breath caught. “No,” she whispered. “I never forget that.”

“Then listen now.” Yelena’s fingers slid under Kate’s shirt, teasing the skin just above the waistband of her leggings. “Take these off. Slowly.”

Kate obeyed, peeling the fabric down her thighs, letting them pool at her ankles. The air in the room shifted. Thickened.

Yelena tugged her gently forward, guiding her to straddle her lap.

“Sit,” she said, and Kate did—settling on Yelena’s thighs, her thighs bare and trembling slightly, her breath shallow.

Yelena’s fingers teased over the lace of Kate’s underwear. “You’ve been restless since we got here. Is this what you’ve been aching for? This kind of quiet?”

Kate’s cheeks flushed. She nodded.

“I want to hear it.”

“Yes,” Kate whispered. “Please. I need you.”

Yelena leaned in, their lips brushing. “Good girl.”

She moved with care—no urgency, no roughness. Her fingers traced the hem of Kate’s underwear, pushing it aside, finding wet heat and gasping breath in response. Her other hand cupped the back of Kate’s neck, keeping her close, kissing her between every touch.

“You stay still,” Yelena said, voice low. “You take what I give you. And you don’t come until I say.”

Kate’s thighs quivered where they pressed against Yelena’s jeans. “Yes, ma’am.”

Yelena’s fingers slipped inside her slowly, lovingly, her thumb brushing over Kate’s clit in gentle, deliberate circles. Kate buried her face in Yelena’s neck, whimpering with every breath.

The rain outside poured on, constant, a perfect cover for the rhythm of fingers and the whisper of panting breath.

“I love how you fall apart for me,” Yelena whispered. “Even in the middle of a mission. Even when the world is burning around us.”

Kate nodded frantically, a soft sound breaking from her throat. Her body trembled against Yelena’s hand, hips jerking—but Yelena gripped her tighter, holding her there.

“Not yet,” she said, and kissed Kate’s lips.

Kate whimpered, desperate now. “Please—please—”

Yelena kissed the corner of her mouth, her pulse steady, calm. “You wait for my word.”

Kate clenched her fists in Yelena’s shirt, her whole body alive with need.

Finally—finally—Yelena pressed her forehead to Kate’s and whispered, “Now.”

Kate shattered in her arms.

Her cry was soft, muffled against Yelena’s shoulder. Her body went limp with release, melting down into her, heart thudding, eyes shut tight.

Yelena didn’t move until the tremors stopped. She just held her. Kissed her temple. Smoothed her hair back.

“I’ve got you,” she whispered. “Always.”

Kate nodded, still catching her breath, still wrapped around Yelena like she’d never let go.

“I hate waiting,” she mumbled again.

Yelena smiled this time. “Mm. But when you wait for the right moment…”

She pressed a final kiss to Kate’s forehead.

“It’s always worth it.”
