So…I have a story written in my notes, but I want to see if ppl actually will read this! It mainly will revolve around Dazai (Glinda), because that’s the point of view easiest to write from. None of this is accurate at all, and probably doesn’t make scene…Here’s the AU!
Basically, Elphaba uses the Grimmerie on accident after she had taken it, and it opened a portal to the BSD world. She was transported through. In this AU, let’s pretend Glinda went searching for her, and found the portal she created and was transported through as well. The portal closed after that, and the two were left stranded. Were also going to pretend they are about 18 (idk the canon ages), so in that first year they transitioned to males to avoid the male attention they were getting, and use makeup to cover Elphaba’s green skin. Elphaba goes by Chuuya Nakahara, Glinda goes by Dazai Osamu. Also for this AU, everyone in BSD is going to be aged up a few years, so Dazai can still be in the mafia for four years.
Anyway, the two were found by Mori and offered a job..which they took, because what else was there to do? The mafia really changed them both. Dazai (Glinda) became practically the opposite person, and closed herself off from Chuuya (Elphaba) almost entirely besides missions. When Oda died, it made him realize how he’d become, so he left the mafia. In this AU (for my sanity and heart), let’s just pretend he told Chuuya and Chuuya supported this. Gradually after leaving, Dazai slowly became more like his old self, though he mainly kept his more feminine side for only Chuuya to see.
That’s about as far as I got, but I plan to have someone like Atsushi or Ranpo realize the truth and after some drama, they end up explaining to everyone (or the truth gets forcefully exposed). I also may allow them to find a way back to Oz- but i’m not sure how to write that 😭
