“And what about you, Matt Murdock,” she said after they had introduced themselves, “are you happy where you are?”
“There’s always room for improvement,” he took her drink out of her hand and sipped it. Something settled deep within her and she didn’t know what, she dared not name it, strange and foreign as it was.
She knew what he was though; a do-gooder, an overachiever, a Catholic, a true bleeding heart if ever one there was. Surely he must be bored too — bored of keeping on that perfect mask. “Come now,” she told him, ready to show him more of what life had to offer.
