It will get better

Summary:

Cale loves eating, everybody knows that. Hell, even when he is down and injured, the first thing he asks for is a steak; so, when he rejects Beacrox's food, saying that he isn't hungry, everyone worries.

Notes:

22/09/2025: I get so irritated today that it ruined my appetite all day lmaoooo. There wasn't any food in the house I wanted to eat anyway, so whatever. At least got a tasty coffee >33

Chapter Text

Getting upset over minor things wasn't exactly the most mature thing a forty-year-old, grown ass man could do, especially to the point that he couldn't eat, but it wasn't like he could control his body. Thus, he had no choice but to deal with the situation his lack of appetite put him through.

“Are you sure, nya?” Ohn asked, quick as only she was, with that tone that made his father feel both uncomfortably uneasy and relieved.

Beacrox, who had gotten used to his young master’s eating issues and long ago stopped feeling attacked or offended by his rejection, followed, “I can always make something else. Are you in the mood for anything in particular?”

The redhead only smiled awkwardly at them. Although he was still getting used to his face doing— showing emotions, it made it easier for others to understand what he was thinking that way; and, surprisingly, it had worked before to stop more than one misunderstanding with his family and friends.

“It’s fine, really, I haven’t felt very hungry lately.”

It wasn’t a lie anyway; there wasn’t much for him to do, since they were in a rather calm period and hadn’t used his ancient powers at all.

“I could use a coffee, though,” the nobleman mumbled as an afterthought, more a whisper to himself than the people attentively staring at him.

“I’ll make you one, young master. Two sugars, a tear of milk, right?” Without giving Cale time to answer him, the chef of the family left the room straight to the kitchen. The Henituse might not be able to eat at times, but there was no way anyone in the villa, starting from him, was going to let him starve.
