The spiteful, piercing glare from the last vampire in Oakhurst sparked fear in some, amusement in others. Pity in one.
Under other circumstances, Cleo would have killed Scott to ensure the area was clean. However, Shubble begged. Even when cured by Dr Legs, there was a bond between the two that the Vampire Huntress themself didn't understand.
Still, if Shubble wanted to stay with her roommate, then so be it. So long as he couldn't ever be awoken again.
Scott himself, however, was bound in silver chains. Brought down by the remaining humans into his old crypt beneath the castle. He resisted occasionally, but otherwise accepted his fate with an air of elegance.
As he turned his gaze from tomb to Cleo, his low-frequency growl was cut off by their chuckle and voice slicing through the silence.
"You know, I was a little worried you'd recognise me when we first met."
Scott simply stared back. Not as amused as they were.
"And why should I have? Have we met before?"
This drew out a laugh from the ginger 'mayor' of Oakhurst, as they simply put one hand on the open tomb, gently tracing its edge with a finger from the other hand.
"Come on! Don't tell me you don't see the family resemblance."
"What are you... Oh. Oh, for crying out loud..."
Cleo was driven to cackling at this point, as the others seemed a bit more perplexed at the 'inside joke' between the two of them. Cleo stood up straight, hands moving to a silver shovel nearby.
"Surprise!"
"Oh, come on! Not agai-"
Thwack. Scott was interrupted by the metal of a shovel striking him in the back of the head, causing him to tumble into the open tomb, chains and all. He seemed to be still, like he was asleep, though the others were more occupied with sealing the lid of Scott's resting place before he had the chance to get back up.
"I'll finish up here. Avid, Shubble, you're both staying to help. Everyone else, you're free to go."
As most of the survivors began to shuffle out, Cleo put a hand on the tomb, hoping to goodness that this would be the last time Scott met someone in her bloodline.
