The ball of light bounced along the rainbow bridge and all she had to do was follow follow follow and she could catch it.
As she ran along her joints stopped aching, her paw stopped hurting. She felt so much better.
The ball was almost within reach.
She caught it and suddenly the world was light and squirrels and peanut butter and open fields.
She sat and waited, tail thumping.
She knew eventually her Nick and her Charlie would be by.
She crossed her front legs, resting her chin, enjoying the sunshine.
Time didn’t exist. Her tail wagged in anticipation.
