Orfevre never got drunk. She hated the smell, the lack of control... and yet today she let herself indulge in the feeling. Maybe she was stressed, anxious, whatever it was she doesn't remember now. Now, she was barely walking to her dorm room with Shion supporting her as much as she physically could. Which wasn't much anyway...
When they entered the room Shion helped Orfevre lay down on the bed. She wasn't so happy with the state Orfevre was in, but she also couldn't leave her girlfriend like that. Shion sat at the edge of the bed, looking down at Orfevre's face.
Orfevre's gaze was swimming. She couldn't even focus on one thing for a long which drove her absolutely crazy, but also the alcohol in her veins made her not care really. " Shioooon . . . " She started. "Would . . . would you still love me if I was just a small bug . . ? "
Orfevre's question caught Shion completely off guard. She blinked a few times in confusion and frowned her brows. "What- ... If you were a bug we probably wouldn't even met. What even is that question-" Shion stopped when she noticed Orfevre's eyes began to glaze. Is she.. actually crying?
" So you . . wouldn't . . ? " A singular tear ran down Orfevre's cheek.
Shion was completely stunned. There lied a grown ass woman, feared by many, even titled a Tyrant King, crying because Shion wouldn't love her if she was a bug. This is ridiculous. But, Shion couldn't shake off the feeling of slight guilt. After all Orfevre was now crying because of her, even though the source of it was straight up comical. "Oh.. I-" She sighed. "I would. I would even build you miniature houses where you could... live your bug life."
Orfevre's lips slightly parted, and she smiled not long after. "Awwuwhwu . . . . aren't you so sweeet . . . " She finally managed to focus her gaze on Shion. The sight was just so beautiful for her now... she could look at her for the rest of her life and beyond.
Seeing Orfevre's eyes so locked onto her, Shion turned red slightly. "...what are you staring at?"
Orfevre's smile did not waver. "The love of my life . . ."
Shion got completely stunlocked. Her lips clenched and she turned her face away with a huge blush. "....Stop saying stupid things you drunken fool........"
Orfevre sat up with a grunt and moved closer to Shion. She put her hand on her cheek and softly turned Shion's face to face hers. "Lissssten hiere applepie."
Shion moved her eyebrows up, staring wide eyed at Orfevre.
"I MAY be drunk. I admit. But it doesn't make my feeling any less real." She tilted her head slightly, brushing Shion's cheek with her thumb. "You always knew me better than anyone. It’s scary sometimes . . . but I can't think of anyone else I had such deep feelings for." Her head fell slightly and leaned on Shion's shoulder. "I think you're the only person that actually seen me as I am . . . not a mask of a proud King I imposed on myself . . . with you I'm just- just like anyone else . . . without expectations hanging over my head, without everyone analysing my every move . . . "
At this point Shion was completely speechless. She didn't even dare to suspect Orfevre hid feelings like that... or was it just alcohol speaking through her now? Regardless, now she had to be the anchor for Orfevre. One static thing in this everchanging world. Shion wrapped her hands around her girlfriend, hugging her tightly. " Lay down... you should rest. "
Orfevre sighed shakingly and layed down, but her eyes never left Shion. " Stay . . . " Not a command, a plead.
Shion's sighed, but she smiled right after. She then layed down and hugged Orfevre to her chest. Shion didn't have to say anything to answer her lover.
In the morning Orfevre had completely no memory of the past evening. When she asked Shion if she said anything embarrassing, Shion just chuckled and reassured Orfevre that anything she said yesterday was safe with her.
