Summary
Butch watches as Etta grabs her things off the bed before leaning over to tuck a strand of sandy hair behind Sundance’s ear. The Kid’s face twitches like he’s been hit, lashes fanning out over his cheeks. His jaw clenches like he can’t decide whether to move towards or away from her, to please his woman or spare himself the humiliation.
“You don’t think he looks pretty, Butch?”
That makes Sundance rear like an ill-trained horse, jerking his head away, fists clenching in the fabric of the dress as if he’s a real maiden. “Now, I'm right here. I’m right here, ain't I?”
