“Bobby, can we take off the blindfolds?”
“They're really itchy.”
“Don't be such a baby, not even Mira is—”
“Ouch.”
“complaining,” Bobby finished his sentence and helped Mira, who had walked into the wall. Rumi groaned in annoyance, “Seriously, why—”
“No cheating,” Bobby said sternly and adjusted her blindfold again. “We're almost there,” he grinned excitedly, even though the girls couldn't see it. He was sure they would love the surprise.
Rocking his feet, he waited for the familiar ding of the elevator. When it reached the right floor, he pulled the three of them out of the elevator.
“We're here,” he announced proudly, while the girls fumbled around helplessly.
“Where is here?” Mira asked grumpily, and Zoey added whingingly, “Can we take them off now?”
“You can,” said Bobby excitedly, looking forward to seeing the girls' faces. They didn't need to be told twice and freed themselves from the annoying blindfolds. When they saw where they were, their mouths dropped open.
“We're in a penthouse!?”
“Look how high up it is! The view is amazing.”
“And how much space there is here.”
Like startled chickens, they ran around excitedly, marveling at every room and exploring every corner of the apartment. It was so gigantic and had dozens of rooms and, above all, a huge space for all their costumes.
Bobby watched them with a grin, delighted that his surprise had been a success. He had hit the nail on the head with this one.
“Bobby, the apartment is amazing,” said Rumi, her eyes sparkling with joy.
“I'm glad you like it.”
“Are you kidding? This place is amazing,” said Zoey, throwing her arms around his neck.
Bobby laughed, “Then you can start packing right away, you can move in immediately.”
The three looked at him dumbfounded. “Say that again,” Rumi asked him. “This is your new shared apartment,” Bobby repeated, grinning broadly.
“Wait, wait. All of this,” Mira gestured around, “is our apartment?”
“That's how it is,” Bobby nodded and looked at three perplexed faces. So he had to explain himself after all.
"After your awesome debut album, the charts that went through the roof, and your nomination at the Idol Awards, I thought you guys more than deserved it. Zoey has time to write, Mira has space to choreograph, and Rumi can sing here without being disturbed. Plus, you can always be together, isn't that great?“
He smiled again, ”Consider it my gift to you for the great time we've had and for continuing to be a great team."
Before he had even finished speaking, the girls threw their arms around him.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
“You're the best Bobby.”
“We couldn't have asked for a better manager."
