Work Text:
Fresh summer air filled Shion's nostrills as she walked out of the Ritto staircase. She zipped up her blouse and made her way towards the racecourse.
Since Shion started doing small workouts at the break of day, her mental health sygnificantly improved. Her mood during races was much better, training results were going up and the most importantly she just felt much more motivated during the day.
As Shion entered the area of the racecourse she stretched up and glanced around. The landscape was a little misty, as the increasing temperature evaporated the cold mist from grass below. It was a very unique aspect of early mornings.
Shion moves her gaze to the racetrack, and that's when she got a little put off. In a wide stretch of sunlight, laid none other than.. Orfevre? She laid on her back, eyes closed. Shion blinked a few times in confusion as if she thought it was some kind of mirage, but no. Orfevre was just... literally laying there. On the grass. In the sun. "
"Is she okay...?" Shion muttered to herself and frowned her brows both in concern as well as .... slight worry. Either way Shion made her way to her girlfriend, she's just going to check if she's okay. Yes. She went below the railing and hesitantly approached Orfevre. Orfevre's ears reacted to the sound of Shion stepping through the turf, but the Tyrant herself did not. Shion stopped just by Orfevre's head and leaned forward to look perpendicularly at her face.
The gesture covered the sunlight shining at Orfevre's face, on which she opened her eyes. Orfevre immediately frowned her eyebrows. "What do you think you're doing?"
Shion's ears bolted forward seeing Orfevre react so quickly. "I was just-"
Orfevre closed her eyes again. "Move. You're blocking the sun."
Shion frowned her eyebrows again, but straightened up as Orfevre asked. When the sun hit Orfe's face again, her expression softened. Shion smiled slightly, now more from surprise than confusion. "What.. exactly are you doing?"
"Results from my blood tests returned that I have a vitamin D deficy, so I decided to take the matters into my own hands." Orfevre answered, one of her ears constantly turned in the direction of Shion.
“So you.. lay on the turf since dawn?"
"That is a grave understatement of this process."
Shion tilted her head slightly and sat down by Orfevre's head. "Then what is it?" The curiousity was eating her out from the inside, Shion somehow just couldn't leave unanswered.
Orfevre sighed, putting her palms on her stomach. "Not only am I gathering necessary vitamins from the sun, the ground is absorbing the negative energy from my body. Besides that, being alone with your thoughts and not stress yourself this early in the morning is very beneficial to the mental health."
Shion was really trying not to laugh. She just left out a small chuckle. "Let me guess, miss Sasami told you that?"
".......It doesn't matter who passed me that information since it's working." Orfevre opened her eyes and looked at Shion. "Why are you laughing?"
Shion covered her mouth with her palm, ineptly trying to hide her laugh. "Nono it's just..." Shion moved her hand away, her expression full of joy. "You're such a dumbass..."
Orfevre's gaze couldn't help but soften seeing Shion so happy. Though she still couldn't understand what made her laugh so much, Orfevre slowly smiled herself.
Now she has a second sunlight lightening up her mood.
