Summary
Sam Winchester has always lived in Dean’s shadow, at school, at home, everywhere. Dean is the older brother who escaped John’s grip, the one everyone calls hot, the one Sam resents for never paying him the attention he craves. But Sam has learned that anger feels close enough to intimacy, and so he starts picking fights, skipping classes, and carving out excuses to land in Dean’s orbit.
Dean wants to write it off as bratty little-brother behavior, but every push, every glare, every smirk from Sam digs under his skin. Boundaries blur in the heat of detention rooms and stolen moments where no one else is watching. Dean tells himself he’s just trying to keep Sam in line, but soon he can’t tell if he’s protecting him, punishing him, or falling into something he shouldn’t want.
Sam doesn’t understand the difference between obsession and love, and Dean is too tired of John’s abuse and his own loneliness to stop himself from feeding the fire. The closer they get, the uglier it becomes, a dangerous game of control, defiance, and forbidden desire.
