Work Text:
Ahsoka sprinted into the barracks, and dove onto the nearest bunk, landing face down on the mattress. Jesse, Kix, and Hardcase all raised an eyebrow at this sudden intrusion. Ahsoka didn’t move.
“You okay Commander?” Jesse asked, sitting on the bunk beside her. Ahsoka grunted in response.
Jesse flips her over and she glares at him, but there are tears running down her sienna face.
“What happened?” Kix asks ever so gently.
“I’m just so tired. I’ve barely sat down in days and my feet hurt,” Ahsoka complains, her voice tight with trapped sobs.
“Well, you’re here now. Let us take care of you,” Rex said as he came out of nowhere. Hardcase shrieked and Jesse burst out laughing. Kix kept his gaze on Ahsoka.
Ahsoka gave the slightest nod. She was filthy and sweaty and gross. She wanted to shower. But she was so darn tired.
“How about you take a quick shower, I know you’re tired, but a shower would help,” Kix suggested, reading her mind. Ahsoka nodded again, but before she could get up, she burst into violent sobs. The troopers all blinked simultaneously before Rex pulled her into a tight embrace. Ahsoka sobbed into his blacks as Rex rubbed her back. It took ten minutes for her to finally stop crying and when she did, she looked at her brothers.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cry,” Ahsoka sniffed. Kix knelt in front of her and took her hands in his.
“It’s okay. You’re a teenager, a teenage girl for that matter. It’s going to happen sometimes,” Kix said. All of his brothers looked at him with looks of mass confusion on their faces. They had no idea what the kriff he was talking about. But Ahsoka understood and wrapped her arms around Kix’s neck. Kix wrapped his arms around her shoulders before standing her up and telling her to go and shower.
Ahsoka showered in scalding hot water before dressing in a pair of shorts and an oversized t-shirt. She headed back to the barracks, where her brothers were all waiting for her. Jesse stepped behind her and led her back to her bunk by her shoulders. He laid back on the bunk, pulling her with him.
Ahsoka curled up in Jesse’s arms and closed her eyes for the first time in what felt like days.
“That’s right. Just relax vod’ika. You deserve it,” Rex said as he covered both of his vod’ika with a blanket.
“You guys are the best,” Ahsoka said. All of the troopers lit up with joy.
Soon, there was a soft purring that meant Ahsoka was asleep, and a moderately loud snoring that meant Jesse was also asleep. It wasn’t hard to believe, considering that Jesse could sleep, and having a life sized stuffed, well, real, Togruta in your arms to cuddle with most certainly made it easier.
Two Hours Later
“Mmm. What time is it?” Ahsoka said through a yawn.
“1800 hours,” Rex said with a smile. He knew she hated military time.
“6 o’clock,” Kix piped in.
“Thanks Kix,” Ahsoka said. Kix nodded and sat down next to her and in front of Jesse, who was still sleeping.
“How are you feeling now?” Kix asked.
“Better. But now I’m really hungry,” Ahsoka said. Rex and Kix looked at each other and smiled before dragging Ahsoka to the mess hall. They sat her down between the Domino twins, who each smiled down at her.
“Hey boys,” Ahsoka said.
“How was your nap?” Echo asked.
“It was really nice,” Ahsoka said, thoughtfully.
“That’s good. Kix filled us in on what was happening,” Fives said.
Rex slid a tray of food in front of Ahsoka, and she was excited to see that it wasn’t rations. It was a cheeseburger (Don’t know if they have these in Star Wars, but they’re one of my faves) and a little cup of ice cream. Ahsoka’s smile widened. She thanked each and every one of her brothers for her wonderful day repeatedly over the next week.
