    Leto knew perfection was unnatural. It was a construct, something created as a diabolical ultimate goal. It was the hopeless desire to be flawless that tortured her since she was little, scarring her young soul permanently. Emptiness was her closest friend, a companion that followed her anywhere since she was around the age of eight. She grew used to feeling “that way” most of the days, she knew the tricks to make it go away, but each time the voice came back it was monstrously more powerful than the previous time.
    She wanted to live, but she was too tired to fight, too exhausted to defend herself from those voices.
    In that intense darkness, she could find the smallest hope that someday things would be better and she would desire to live again. That hope grew stronger the moment she had met her friends and Halsin.
