Summary
After the death of his mother, eleven-year-old Jason Todd finds himself alone on the streets of Gotham, starving, scared, and with nowhere to turn. When Selina Kyle stumbles upon him stealing bread in a rain-soaked alley, she sees something in him that makes her pause: a small, terrified child, fragile and desperate, and not yet hardened by the city’s cruelty.
Selina doesn’t intend to care. She’s survived Gotham by staying ruthless, distant, and untouchable. But protecting Jason becomes unavoidable — and against her own rules, she finds herself reluctantly taking him in.
