“We went out for dinner. Small place — Hazel found it online.”
Tony raised a brow. “Name?”
Hazel thought for a second, pressing a hand to her stomach. “Uh… Monty’s Bistro. Over on 7th.”
Tony exhaled sharply through his nose, already piecing it together. “Monty’s— oh, for crying out loud.” He rubbed a hand over his face. “You’re kidding me. That place got flagged for health code violations last month. Unrefrigerated seafood, expired produce… Jesus, kids.”
Hazel blinked at him tiredly, her voice faint. “What?”
Tony crouched down in front of them, resting a hand on Hazel’s arm. “You two have food poisoning,” he said, firm but gentle. “Classic signs. Nausea, vomiting, exhaustion. Nothing supernatural, no alien parasites, no mutant viruses — just bad chicken or bad shellfish.”
Hazel groaned softly, half in relief, half in misery. “Oh my god…”
