A Generous Pour

Summary:

"Sorry, I—" he stammered, furrowing his brows, "If you really want to watch stuff on Discovery, I really wouldn't mind— I really love you and I enjoy making you happy—"

Michael interrupted him with a laugh, a hand cupping his jaw and rubbing comforting circles on his cheek with his thumb. "Quit apologizin', you nerd. I really don't mind. I have a better idea, anyhow," he smiled, pushing Jeremy's glasses up for the hell of it.

Jeremy sighed, nodding a bit before saying, "Okay... shoot."

Michael grinned.

"Wanna go to Seven-Eleven?"

Or, two loser, geeks, or whatever get a little too bored and get some slushees!

Work Text:

Michael groaned, shifting on his bed.

"I'm boredddd..." He whined, dropping the controller. This caused Jeremy, who was focused on the game, to scoff.

"Maybe because you're losing," he rolled his eyes, which were glowing faintly from the light of the television.

"No, it's not that," he laughed, lying flat against the bed, "I'm getting bored of Apocalypse of the Damned and smoking weed."

"Michael Mell is bored of weed? I never thought I'd see the day when—" Jeremy's dramatic remark was cut off by the other boy throwing a pillow at him with a faux-annoyed huff.

"Shut up, Jer," he scoffed, sitting up, "Seriously. I'm boredddd..."

"Probably because you have the attention span of a goldfish," Jeremy laughed, moving the pillow off of him.

"Actually, because of the rapid decrease in attention spans due to widespread technology, the average human attention span is one second shorter than a goldfish—"

"You've gotta stop watching Discovery."

Michael gasped before crawling over to the boy, blocking his view of the game and making Jeremy groan in annoyance.

"We should watch Discovery!!"

"Michael, I love you, but not that much."

Michael pouted, flopping onto his boyfriend's chest. Jeremy idly fidgeted with his red sweatshirt's hood while the other hummed in thought.

While Michael cycled through the 4 options of things he could do for fun (play video games, smoke weed, make out with Jeremy, and watch Discovery), the other boy just frowned. He didn't mean to make him upset. To be honest... he would do anything to make Michael happy. He wouldn't necessarily enjoy watching documentaries or things alike... but if he got to see the excitement in his eyes... or cuddle with him while some nerd talked about how humanity has stopped evolving—

"Jer?" Michael mumbled, his head now off of his chest so he could show his concern laced features.

The pair climbed into Michael's PT Cruiser and began to drive to the local Seven-Eleven. On normal circumstances, they would've walked, but Michael complained about the cold and convinced Jeremy to ride in his car. (In actuality, he just really wanted to listen to Bob Marley with his boyfriend.)

In the car, Michael turned on Marley (without a single complaint from Jeremy) and began to sing without a single care.

"I wanna love you, and treat you right... I wanna love you... every day and every night!!" Michael sung. Albeit, not well, but the stupid grin that his lips twitched up to after singing it was enough to make Jeremy instantly forgive his tone-deafness.

Michael, with his usual proud grin, held his hand out to the other boy, while still singing.

Jeremy took it with a thankful squeeze before muttering, "I love you."

Micheal mouthed back the loving phrase before going back to singing,

"We'll be together

With a roof right over our heads

We'll share the shelter

Of my single bed..."

The two of them hopped out of the car and began to happily stroll into the gas station. Michael quickly sped ahead of the other boy just so he could hold the door open and say,

"After you..." with a stupid grin.

Jeremy just rolled his eyes, and when he walked into the store and turned his back, Michael playfully stuck his tongue out at him.

After doing his gentlemanly duties, he quickly bounded to the slushy section, which caused Jeremy to huff amusedly; in no way surprised.

"What flavor do ya want, babe?" Michael grinned,  already pouring the cherry variety into a cup.

"Uh.. blue raspberry is fine," Jeremy shrugged, stuffing his hands into his cardigan pockets and walking behind him.

"Blue razz, comin' up," he hummed, pouring the blue liquid into another cup and handing it to him.

The duo, after joking about getting green Mountain Dew and getting a SQUIP, finally approached the counter to pay.

"Your total is $12.08," the cashier practically yawned.

Michael immediately dug out his wallet, but Jeremy grabbed his wrist and tried to yank it away.

"I can pay, it's fine—"

"Aw, c'mon, JerBear, it was my idea—"

"Do not call me 'JerBear'—"

"What would you prefer? Babe? Love? Sinta?—"

"Just let me pay, Mike, you did last time—"

The duo bickered for a moment before cashier suddenly clapped their hands over their face with a groan. "I can't take it anymore. Take them on the house, hell, add a little extra for all I care. I cannot deal with this stupid job anymore."

The two shared an amused look before mumbling a quick thank you and leaving.

"You feel less bored now?" Jeremy mumbled with a small grin, looking over at his partner, who was happily sipping his drink and leaning against the pillows on his bed.

Michael nodded quickly, taking another swig before saying, "Yes, very much so. Can you believe they let us get a generous pour? God, they were so fed up with their job..."

Jeremy laughed, nodding a bit. "I can't believe all it took to quiet your whining was ice and sugar..."

The other shrugged, taking yet another sip before a small smirk appeared on his face; along with a playful glint in his eye.

"Y'know, you could make me whine in another way," he chuckled softly, crawling closer to him.

"Why do you always do this?" Jeremy chuckled back.

"Do what???" He feigned innocence, sitting directly next to him now, "be utterly hilarious?" He grinned, grasping the other boys chin and turning it towards him.

"More like utterly stupid." Jeremy quipped, punctuating his statement with a drink of the slushie.

"Hey!" The other pouted, his eyes darting over the other's face. His grin somehow brightened.

"... what? Oh Jesus, you look like you have an idea. That's never good," Jeremy laughed quietly, furrowing his brows.

Michael didn't respond, and instead released his hold on his boyfriend's chin to take a sip of his drink. Not before pressing a kiss to his lips, of course.

Jeremy couldn't hold back an eye roll at his sudden affection, but obviously kissed back.

"What was that for?"

"What, can I not express my love at random periods of time?" Michael laughed softly.

Jeremy was about to make a witty comment back, but his eyes travelled down to the other's now purple lips.

Michael grinned sheepishly as his plan was found out, and before Jeremy could complain (even though he never would), he kissed him until he was content with the vibrancy of the purple on both of their lips.
